What I love about one punch man is, that while it fufilled its purpose of being a satire on anime tropes, it's still got a good cast of compelling characters, good art style, cool music, a good story, well choreographed fights, and,quite possibly most importantly of all, a great message: Saitama, while being basically an untouchable god, isn't happy with his life because he can't struggle, while characters like mumen and Genos are motivated by their weakness, failure, but still use their grit and determination to punch it in the face and improve upon their shortcomings. In short, struggling is what makes us human, it's what makes us feel, but that doesn't mean we constantly suffer and are worthless. Great show, a personal favorite and one of the greatest works of fiction of all time

Saitama should try to migrate to the JJBA or DBZ universes to get an actual fight tbh, since Boros was able to make him use substantially more than 0.1% of his strength (Something no one else has ever been able to do), my guess is that someone an order of magnitude more powerful than Boros would finally be at Saitama's level

No matter the universe, no matter the enemy Saitama is invincible and able to one punch, regardless of how strong is his opponent. Saitama is a gag character, satirizing cliches-tropes, stated by his own author as nonsensically strong and gag existence in interviews and in chapter 9 of OPM manga canonically written word for word that he is invincible and able to one punch anyone, however strong they are. Saitama doesn't have special-serious moves nor does he need any as he stated himself in chapter 92.5 "Reality Strikes", he states he can defeat anyone with a simple punch. It's mind boggling how after so many years people still get /r whooshed by jokes and canon material.

What I love about Genos is that despite half the time he's getting pummeled, he isn't set up for failure like most satires. It's because of his failures that he must improve and become more self sufficient, it's that which pushed him to new heights and we as an audience want him to succeed in doing that everytime. It's not even that Genos is weak, it's that he always extends himself to fighting EXTREMELY strong foes that most would find it hard to kill (minus Saitama). Genos is actually perhaps my most favorite of the characters in One Punch Man for this reason. Him and Metal Bat

Genos is S rank for a reason. He's a badass, but like you said, he fights the toughest fights. Like fighting Gandahar at the start of Two Worlds outside the village. It's not impossible but 99% chance you'll get your ass handed to you.

He could've defeated DSK if he didn't drop his guard tbh. I hope one day he manage to take on a Dragon level monster, maybe he could become more of a tactician like Child Emperor, who uses technology to fulfill his tasks. But tbh the whole Genos character is a shonen cliché, but by the same reason he can have improvements the hard way. (In his fight against Awakened Cockroach he showed that he can be more clever).

the sea king was freaking strong he pommeled a class hero like nothing and one S class was hardly enough. His regeneration and ablilities were rusted since he was outside the water else genos would need several full power blows to beat him. Genos did amazing against him

nah not that much. There are pretty strong s class hero. And don't forget s class rank 1 he comes if world is in danger. But yeah damage is highly highly reduced by saitama well towards people anyways. I mean saitama still messes up a lot XD just think of the meteor he could have annihalated it with serious series yet he broke it in so many pieces

lets also not forget that saitama is only doing the hero thing to find strong opponents and not have to do much, at first ya he wanted to protect after that it became more of he was to board that he only did stuff if he felt it would give him a challenge, genos however challenged everything and rushed into any situation even if he knew he wouldn't be much use, that my friends is what a really hero is, they don't have to be strong, they just have to not give a fuck enough to risk there own flesh and lives to protect others.

Lovell Abyss Walker It's heavily implied that Saitama is still a hero to protect rather than for a challenge. Think about it. If all he really wanted was a challenge he wouldn't be fighting regular weak as f monsters to save civilians. He also wouldn't be doing the whole hero thing. Instead, he'd probably be more like Suryu from the manga.

I don't care if Genos gets *WRECKED* almost all the time. He's a badass character and a pretty sexy one at that.

I’m really glad they gave him a couple foes he could actually deal with in Season 2. He’s not cut out to deal with giant monsters that can rip him in half but he stood up to Speed o Sound Sonic and even Garou for a bit. Which he definitely deserved

He’s said to be strong enough to have killed the Sea King before the rain. Usually it seems as though he underestimated his opponents and plans things...and then fails when things aren’t as he figured. Hence why mosquito girl gets the jump on him, he figured it’d just be a normal fight.

Agreed. He's incredibly capable. He held the meteor back for a few seconds with his incineration cannon (was that what he called it in the episode?) he impressed Saitama during their fight, (considering our one punch man watched him fly by and smiled) and he can destroy large areas of terrain within a few seconds with his basic incinerate. Badass cyborg with the bad luck. Bad luck bot.

I've noticed Genos loses every time cause when he powers up, he only powers up enough to fight a particular level of monster, but ends up fighting even more powerful monsters he's not strong enough for so he just becomes modern art.

The part where you're restoring power to the station.... OMG... those flying bird/insects do SO MUCH damage, and then running from SA-X opening those doors.... hands down the hardest part for me... I diededededed easily +30 times... I still get shivers from the sound of the SA-X's footsteps
