Yes, more than one dish, but only one pot. When people "do the dishes", it is understood that they wash cooking and eating items i.e dishes+utensils+cutlery+pots and pans, not just the dishes. Using one pot reduces your load. Your argument is with the English idiom (yes, idiom, not literal phrase) "to do the dishes", which is clearly not limited to just dishes.

Would just recommend having everything ready... chopped shallots, garlic, washed rice, measured chicken/veg stock.. the whole thing is quick, so it’s helpful to have everything ready so nothing burns or overcooks. YOU GOT THIS 💪🏼 you should cook it! (Chicken thighs are pretty hard to over-cook. I didn’t use skin-on chicken either, I used boneless/skinless, & it was just as good)

In our Mexican culture, my grandmother taught me how to make chicken and rice when I was old enough to reach the countertop. When I make this, I usually use chicken breast instead of thighs and season it the same way. The sauce I make is tomato based with roasted garlic, minced shallot, celery salt, cumin, some sea salt, a lot of black pepper and a bit of red pepper flakes. This looks delicious and will certainly try it with her sauce. Thank you for this amazing recipe!

don't know, it still seems like lot of dishes. Not including the main pot and lid, you still have the bowl to clean the rice, the plate to season the chicken, clean plate to take the chicken back out, another bowl for seasoning, bowl for shallots, cutting board, plus utensils used to cut and dish out, and lastly, new bowl/plate to eat on with silverware

/ˈtuː.mə.ɹɪk/ (TOO-muh-rick) is not an uncommon pronunciation in the US, and in the UK, almost every single pronunciation excludes the first “r” - /ˈtɜː.m(ə).ɹɪk/ (TEH-muh-rick or TEHM-rick), /ˈtjuː.m(ə).ɹɪk/ (TYOO-muh-rick or TYOOM-rick), or even /ˈtʃuː.m(ə).ɹɪk/ (TSHOO-muh-rick or TSHOOM-rick). It’s not uncommon to not pronounce the first “r” so please don’t act as if it’s the only correct way to pronounce it; it’s unnecessarily prescriptivistic.
