@@yow3867 Well actually Taemin was not tone deaf. Media and public for some reason called him that. From what I know/read (forgot the source since it's years ago), it's because the type/condition of his voice during puberty is harder to train than other trainees, so once he passed puberty stage, he trained his vocal harder than everyone.

That's why SM produces vocally-wise artist because they let their artists sing what's suited for their voices. SM let their artist sing in their natural voice and polished them.

SNSD Hyoyeon back then even spilled that whenever SNSD she has to go full on SNSD Hyoyeon mode and not as soloist Hyoyeon that she is which is you know, kinda wild I guess like bass boomin, dance fever and all that. With SNSD, she has to set aside all of those for awhile.

I still remember when red velvet debuted, On live performances, people would always say Wendy is unstable during her "Shine on me" part but we all never knew she had problems with her vocal cord but still continued performing for us

No wonder Wendy used her head voice more. And that's pretty amazing since not many people knows how to use head voice. 1 out of 10 could only do head voice especially if a singer didn't undergone a massive vocal trainings. Even most of the singers in the industry doesn't actually use their head voices maybe doesn't even know how to use it.

Yes, I don't think a lot of people realize that you have to work hard at developing your head voice, too. They think it's something easy that anybody can do, like falsetto, and when a singer uses it for high notes instead of belting them out they call it "cheating", like when Taeyeon temporary damaged her voice during Twinkle promotions and she opted to sing some of her highest notes with a lighter approach for a while. Sigh. Anyway, despite what people may say, I'm glad SM listens to their vocal experts so that their artists don't end up permanently injuring themselves. Voices like Wendy's and Taeyeon's are too precious to lose.

actually i really admire a teacher like him tho... he's really calm but scary, he's scary bcs like he's the type that when he's angry he won't shout or anything, just calm but we know that he's angry. i really admire him bcs he's calm and can see potential clearly

well if you watch from ep 1, you can see why. She spent most of her life for singing, so when she couldn't sing anymore, it destroyed her. to think about time and effort she put for learning singing, plus the amount of money her parent spent for her to pursue singing, she blames herself for doing singing and ultimately losing confidence. I hope she can get better through this experience and find herself in love with singing again. and btw, I see potential for her and the coach, i wish they will end up dating after all this, hehehe

+Nicole Goh she was very traumatised by singing itself so she decided that since she was never gonna sing again in her life, she wouldn't. it's her trauma and not about whether or not she wanted to treat her nodules back then.

+Nicole Goh neither of us lived her life. no one knows it. if you are incapable of empathy and understanding the effects of trauma, I can't do anything about that either. Probably athletes or other child prodigies who grew up doing these things yet not ending up being world renowned would understand. She came to this show because she's matured and would like to overcome her trauma.
