I had the idea for this cover last year, but didn't have the time to put it together for April Fools'--so I wanted to make very sure I got it out for this year because this cover was legitimately the most fun I've had making music in years LOL. The 4Kids One Piece Rap is one of my favorite dub openings purely for how unapologetically stupid and AGGRESSIVELY 2000s it is--this is truly a product of its time and it just would not exist today. My goal with this cover was to make this song even dumber, and I think I have wholeheartedly succeeded--I also think this arrangement kinda unironically goes hard haha. Also, this is my "singing debut"--I'm part of the chorus vocals and also. well. I really went for the full-send karaoke vibes on the last chorus LOL. Huge thank you to my friends Mero, Andrew, and Sasha for helping with the vocals--they all did such a great job!! This cover would not be near as much fun nor near as funny without their crazy voice lines and singing for the chorus--and come on, Sasha KILLED that rap and y'all know it 😤.
