Fun Fact about Arlong: In Japan, there was a series of cup noodle commercials featuring the Straw Hats reimagined as high school students. In the “Nami” commercial, Arlong is reimagined as a brutal restaurant owner who employs Nami as a dishwasher. The restaurant is actually packed in the background so I imagine he has to make pretty decent food!

Regarding Bege, the baked goods would be absolutely amazing. Historically, mafia fronts which served as restaurants were absolutely fantastic. They are the best pizza places in the entirety of the downtown. The core reason is that the boss doesn’t want to eat a bad pizza while he is in the back doing whatever. They would hire the absolute best chefs and buy the top of the line ingredients. So I guarantee, Bege would not disappoint.

It isn't just that. Maffia heavily rely on integrating themselves in the community and having a positive front to hide their activities. So running a restaurant well, having it well decorated and serving good food so people have a very positive experience is kind of the best way to do that. It's basically a way to bribe the community in a completely legal way that doesn't raise any eyebrows.

I need to correct one thing. Arlong would treat his staff VERY VERY WELL! Arlong would only hire fishmen and Arlong was shown to be deeply caring of and treating all of his crewmates like his brothers.

Strangely enough, this is basically an evaluation of how good different One Piece Captains would be if applied to running a business.

Hello Tekking! I am a longtime fan of yours and I just want to say thank you for all that you do. The care you put into your videos is seriously something to behold and they really help me through thick and thin. I had a panic episode last October and functioning at all was incredibly difficult, but your videos were what kept me going. I am doing a lot better now, and actually now landed a job at an anime/manga company, and I never would have gotten this far without your content so thank you.

I would have personally put Mihawk at the very top, just for one simple reason. To me, Mihawk is the sort of person that, if he chooses to dedicate himself to something, he will do everything in his power to be the best, just like Zoro. If he chose to dedicate his life to this bakery then Mihawk would rather die than not have the best bakery.

I feel like the best baker in all anime, would just be Iroh. Why? I don't even know, man just gives off the vibe of someone who gives that bomb baking. I was thinking Sanji for the very best because not only is he the best cook, he has experience with professional kitchens. However I quickly realized that sexual harassment lawsuits would quickly bankrupt his bakery.

A take on Hawkins' Bakery- His Tarot cards might tell him to have a diverse menu. He could also use his divination to figure out what each customer's current favorite baked good would be.

@@Fvogmage Katakuri's mochi fruit or perospero's candy fruit, hell really any of the charolette family's powers like cracker or opera would be good on a donut, but logistically streusen's cook cook fruit would probably be the most useful for making donuts

I imagined Moria using doppelman as the baker instead of the zombies like you mentioned and Doppelman makes amazing baked goods and whenever Moria tries to bake himself he would burn things. A few zombies for maintenance at the bakery and Doppelman and brick bats doing the kitchen work and it would have a really cool gothic aesthetic and vibe

Would *you* eat mochi that came from the body of a person? Would the mochi taste like whatever food Katakuri ate that day? Would it have a weird flavor at all? So. Many. Questions. His future sight would be hella helpful, good catch. I'm kinda hoping Tekking brings any of this up in his future Pt. 2.

@@ANite-vx1vk We did see Luffy eat his Mochi so at the very least it's fine to eat, granted Luffy can eat food that tastes like shit and it will still be good to him, so we can't exactly gauge the quality. I don't think the ethical concerns of cannibalism really matter as he can detatch the mochi from his main body, and even turn his surroundings into Mochi. There definitely needs to be a part 2 just off the back of him not having Katakuri, and overlooking several key aspects that would make his bakery elite.

Me when tekking got to Boa's bakery: And like that I think running a bakery has started to become something of a tragic backstory in itself. Didn't think that was possible before, but here I am now.

For some reason I thought this would just be a compilation of every “bakery” reference he has made in the past…. But this is so much more and so much better.

Putting Big Mom's theoretical bakery under "eh" should be a crime. She would have the highest standards for what is served at her bakeries. Otherwise she would just murder the chefs. She's also has access to some of the best chefs in the world. Her bakery would be at the highest tier, no doubt.

In Magellan's first (kill) customer Venom is edible (I don't remember if it's in small quantities or if it just doesn't work at all)

The difference is venom has to be injected So long as you don’t have any stomach ulcers or injuries in your intestines you could safely drink a cup of rattlesnake venom

I think Leo would have a huge problem with the bakery: he (like all tontatta) is way too naive. Almost every person he gets his ingredients from would screw him over without him noticing.

Man, you have great talent. You keep me engaged in every video (and the videos are like 50 minutes averagely) Keeping someone engaged for an hour is a talent

I wonder if the tier list would be very different if we looked at entire crews/ factions working together... E.g., Bege's bakery vs. Crocodile's, with all their subordinates

A counter for Magellan's bakery! It could be a specialty bakery where thrill seekers come to enjoy baked goods. Magellan could have antidotes on standby and market it to where it's a bakery where you have a chance of dying. It would be like eating that specific pufferfish whose venom kills entire elephants and there are no known antitodes. Magellan would make it taste good and will upfront tell people what venom they are eating.

Sounds like an interesting idea. For some sweets, they could be flavored with Tonka beans, a plant with similar notes to vanilla but can prove highly toxic if consumed in high volumes.

I feel like Crocodile could have a really good baking empire, actually, considering that Mr. One's partner owned a cafe for a while and Ms. valentine's dream was apparently to be a candy maker (or something like that). And Rain Dinners probably had a restaurant in there somewhere. So at the very least he would have the administrative stuff down.

Weirdly I think Franky would make some really good bread, he’d invent an oven that bakes or toasts it to perfection

I never would have expected to want Bartolomeo and Kuma to co-open an amazing bakery, but Tekking talked me into it. They can call it Bartolomeo & Bartholomew.

I imagine Eneru wouldn’t start his own Bakery, it’s just he gets his ass kicked by Luffy again, or maybe just Jinbe, having no context who he is, smacks him down, and he’s forced to work in Conis’ Cafe.

Fun list, and I mostly agree, bu man...I knew you wouldn't do Luffy right. Tekking...what is Luffy's most impressive/dangerous ability according to Mihawk? You go hard with some of these characters by exploring all of their abilities, but skimp on some others. Luffy wouldn't bake himself. Between his good intentions, attitude and ESPECIALLY his charisma, he would gather a gang of extremely talented bakers who dreamed of creating the most delicious treats, but couldn't because of something holding them back. And then, Luffy's attitude, despite his inability to bake himself, would inspire them to break off their chains, and join him in creating the absolute best bakery in the world, with him as the manager that it's there mostly because he inspires them. And probably as a sort of security in case they ever got some unsavory clients trying to start trouble.

The fact that Zef isn't here annoys me but thats understandable since he runs a restaurant. Also i disagree with ceaser. I'd say hes possibly one of the best. Heres why. The dude has had so much shit happen to him lately that he probably got tired of the weapon business so instead he opens a bakery. Have you seen those videos of people cooking with Bunsen burners and liquid nitrogen? Thats amazing. He would be making stuff like instant freezing ice cream cakes and weird sciency pastries with impossible looking fillings. Also fun fact about rattlesnake venom. As long as you don't have a ulcer you can actually eat some of it safely.

Missed oportunity to put the top tier "King of the bakers"

I could picture Chopper doing good at baking since he's great with chemistry (medical chemistry yes but chemistry none the less) and what is baking/cooking but chemistry you're supposed to eat. Plus I imagine he could give people quick health checkups if they asked and maybe figure out what the healthiest choice for them would be to recommend. Like a one stop shop for sweets, cuteness, and medical services

I'd honestly be stuck between Robin's, Sanji's, or Mihawk's bakery depending on what mood I'm in. Brook's, and Whitebeard's bakery would also be great choices imo.

I love how you suggested using THESE bakeries as ideas for a D&D campaign because I'm making one right now and the though crossed my mind like halfway through. Sometimes I swear you're inside my brain with these videos

Honestly, I feel like Sanji might lose points for me. He'd make phenomenal food, sure, but ultimately it's a one man shop, which will limit his abilities considerably. Eventually he'll get popular enough that he won't be able to help everyone alone, and he can't just find someone who can match him. So he would have the best food, but not necessarily the best bakery simply because he can't logistical do everything himself. Also, I feel like you undersold CP-9. Particularly if you assume that all of CP-9 is working there (like you said Kaku on register). They went from basic knowledge of shipbuilding to Dock 1 at the shipbuilding holy land in two years for a job. If they were determined to make a bakery and came at it from the same position, no question, they're "the best".

Why would Sanji be alone? He's worked in a restaurant most of his life. He accepted help from the Totland chefs. It isn't like he's against collaboration.

Even so i dont think anyone on this list would do bettee than sanji, and he do work with ither chef sometime so if he need help he will go seach it to make sure the food stay at the best it possibly can

@@andrewdevita629 it isn't so much that he's alone, moreso that anyone he has to help him won't really be up to his level. Random chef or assistant chefs that he hires won't be able to do the same that he does. Like sure, he can deal with the high value catering jobs and let other chefs handle day to day operations under his supervision, but that's still a step down in quality from 'Sanji does everything himself'. Not bad by any means, but one chef can't do high volume alone, particularly not while going for the highest quality. It would still be top tier, but not in a league of its own.

A thing to note about kuma, ingredients change a lot depending on where you are, so especially with something as delicate as baking, following a recipe to a t might work to his disadvantage

Arlong loves money, I think that would push him to be at least good. I think you need to consider Kuma's finances, he would make it so efficient. And if you allow for the use of his devil fruit, I can imagine a few uses. Hawkins would use his tarot to tell when to bake every batch, so you could always find them fresh. Buggy is anamazing chemist, he would have the most creative bakery ever.

I have a crazy theory that will blow your mind. I think Caribou will be the 10th strawhat. I know it's crazy but hear me out first. Here are the reasons: 1. Oda said in an SBS that the next strawhat was an enemy at first, and he is a logia type (which caribou fits in) 2. Oda has a lot of cover story pages made for caribou. Oda doesnt waste cover pages just for not important characters. He has something prepared for them. 3. Luffy tends to forget all kinds of names and changes it to his preference. But he calls caribou by the same name caribou. Only important characters are called by their real names from Luffy 4. Caribou's shirt has X on it. It could mean "10" which could be a sign of 10th strawhat. 5. The strawhats dont have any "spy" well brook is doing some spy stuff but his ability is very risky since it leaves his body behind. And his actual role is a musician, not a spy. Well with caribou, the possibility is endless. He can store anything in his body may it be ponyglyphs etc it can also be used to infiltrate like all strawhats will enter his body, then caribou can enter any smallest hole to slip in. It's the perfect ability for a spy. Please tell me your thoughts about this tekking
