Even more so, he was made the set chef. In the effort to learn how to pretend to be Sanji, he became Sanji for real. A kickboxing chef who can beat your ass with his hands in his pockets

Just some clarification. Oda literally had to fight netflix so no romance between the crew would be a plot point ever in the live action. Not a spoiler. But oda said if you do romance which netflix wanted to do i will not let you do the show. He's stated in the manga that romance between the strawhats isn't going to happen because they are basically family.

Yeh you guys aren't the first to think there's romantic tension between Nami and Zoro. I assume part of it is a remnants of when Netflix was trying to push for it.

There is not the slightest indication that Netflix ever wanted to do romance or that Oda had to fight against Netflix because of it. Oda simply ruled it out right from the start. But there is also no chance that Matt Owens would have allowed it.

“I don’t hunt rabbits with a cannon.” Is THE coldest trash talk in the entire show. Without spoiling anything, Mihawk is the best swordsman in the entire world. And being such a master swordsman he can adjust the lethality of his strikes with surgical precision. From this episode, you can infer that if he can cut a ship in half, he can cut people in half, he can kill people without dismemberment, and he can seriously injure if he intends to do so. I’m so happy you guys are on this cruise with us! Welcome aboard! 🏴‍☠️

True. Even if I have to say that the way they used Nami/Zoro relationship leaded a little to it in the LA. That's why many new viewers think about it. In the anime/manga the relationship is clearly more brotherly.

If Mihawk wanted to, he could’ve probably just cut him right in two, but he’s precise enough with his blade to just give someone a deep wound instead of killing blow. Zoro didn’t die, he merely passed out from the pain and losing blood.

Dracule Mihawk is an unbelievably powerful character. He represents just a hint of what the Grand Line has in store.

Mihawk's sword, Yoru, literally just means "The Night". Which is so on point with his vampire-esque aesthetics 😂

The reason why luffy isn't really attached to his granpa is the hellish training garp gave to him, which includes being thrown into a jungle, into a ravine and being floated up with a balloon.

Watching Adam leaning back and trying not to ruin things when he was so excited to see Jay watch it, is adorable. One Piece is a fantastic mix of big operatic anime action and all the production departments just working to the height of their ability. I wish more shows were having this much fun and had the same love for their material.

'Is he dead?' sirrrr, Mihawk literally just said 'it's to early for you to die' and told him to heal up, train up and find him again.

Mihawk making the conscious decision to wound Zoro but let him live because he saw something in him is so cool. He's the character who sold me on getting into the series proper.

Every time I see the snail phones all I can think about is Sebastian from the Little Mermaid going “You got to pucker up your lips, lick dis!”

Supposedly the studio they filmed in was the same one Black Sails was filmed in years ago, and a lot of the old ships were still there and just in need of a refurbish/reskin to make them ready for this show.

Powers in this world for the most part are largely split between devil fruit ability, some specific racial thing, and "skill issue" (if you're dedicated enough and have the will to do so, train and be better at it until you're inhumanly good) - kinda similar to the martial arts movie trope where if you're a master you functionally gain superpowers Kuro's speed last episode, Garp's cannonball-throwing physical strength, and Mihawk's sword skills all fall into that last category.

"Roundhouse" is also a type of kick, so your joke still works where Sanji is concerned.

"I am Roranoa Zoro, they call me The Demon pirate hunter. I am here to Fork around and Find out."

In Adams defense a Roundhouse is a kick and Sanji only kicks.

When he was talking about Zoro’s swords being three tornados, I just had to laugh. It’s ironic since Zoro has a technique named “tornado” (tatsumaki)

I love how much Jay loves and gets into the show.

Can we talk about how Jay would have made the kindest, coziest Randy "Macho Man" Savage?

Just a heads up guys.... don't expect Romance to happen in the Crew... in fact... that is one of the unbreakable rules Oda put on himself and the Live-action Staff, there can never be any romance between the Strawhat Crew members. Is not like there is not Romance in the story (look at Usopp and Kaya), it's just that a Romance between members of Luffy's Crew is never gonna happen.

People need to remember that this goes by Shonen anime rules. And Shonen anime rules means that just by nothing but intense training you can do some insane shit.

This is good telly. I’m with Adam on this. Do not take this show lightly. It’s fun it’s light and fun lots of the time but it WILL shank you with NO warning. “Help me “ here. There is no help, just ride this epic rollercoaster to the end..

What we saw at the end of this reaction was a textbook case of self-gaslighting.

One Piece story is basically a RPG video game inspired. The entire east blue saga is the tutorial where the main character gets a crew with their own strengths and weaknesses. Then a level 80 boss Mihawk shows up to fight against our level 10 Zoro just for the purpose of power scaling and motivation for one crew member lol.

Hypothesis: Jay's hatred of the snails comes from a place of self loathing for, as we all know, Jay was once a Chuck E. Cheese animation who was turned into a real boy by an inebriated fairy.

When Jay talked about Nami and Zoro falling in love, I was surprised #jaylovesships didn't pop up 😂

Oda (the mangaka of one piece) has a golden rule that there is no crewmate x crewmate romance among the straw hats. Besides, the each get there own love interests later.
