    This man is a true genius. Still he sounds so humble.... Still with a glimpse of wonder how it all developed to this great legacy he made.

    @tramsay1027 I kinda want to give her a big hug and say thanks for NOT interrupting Paul. I learned more about Paul Simon in this than in any other "interview." Who'd have thunk it--and interviewer wh actually lets the guy say what he wants to say in his own was, at his own tempo, and opens up about himself and his music so much? Not many. Most people don't get the chance to say more than three sentences before they get interrupted. Thank you Barnes & Noble Lady!!

    re: top comments: - "The Lady" as you call her is Katherine Lanpher. She is a respected journalist and was a highly rated morning host on Minnesota Public Radio. She does the B&N podcast now, but it's very likely that Simon's (book) Publisher hired her specifically for this gig because she helps him over his shyness and gets him to interrupt her. She's a pro, and she's making this thing flow. Props for her skillz.

    Paul Simon's and Mark Knopfler music has been the soundtrack to my 22 years of life so far. I really hope at some point they both get together and write an album together, although I'm pretty sure this will never happen. I can always hope :)

    I adore Paul Simon. Intensely. I listen to either Bookends or There Goes Rhymin' Simon like every other day along with other albums he's done solo or not. But I got here after looking up a Sega Genesis game called Dr. Claw's Dump n' Pump. Well played KZread. Well played.

    Bookends I think is the best album S&G ever made. That entire album is a work of art from the cover to the music

    His music so represents what is an obvious life long search for true spirituality, meaning and purpose. Life is a landscape for him and he sings and writes about it as well as anyone. He has put his journey to music and we get to share it.

    !Que anciano tan simpatico! Es perceptible que Paul Simon no es arrogante y idiota como muchos en el medio artistico. Es un señor gentil, amable y muy bien humorado. Que Dios regalle a ello con mucho más años de vida.

    I can't stand interviewers who's first question is "What's it like.....?" I heard her ask that and cringed. I'm glad Paul answered the way he did. He knew right then and there he was dealing with a true amateur.

    @herbiesnerd STOP JUDGING ABOUT THAT WOMAN!! This is not about her at all! She's just sitting there getting payed, but at least she shuts her mouth and let Paul speak on, without interrupting him time after time... She might be annoying etc. etc.; but if she wouldn't be that kind of senile housewife, probably you never heard all those great, brilljant things Paul has to tell, and he takes the opportunity to keep on telling and telling, because the lady just can't add anything important...

    Are you serious? What's the difference with other artists making films and theatre on killers and mass-murderers????? There are thousands of them. Did Simon say in his musical that he approved of the murders??? Where will you draw the line? I would not judge so fast. You might consider thinking first. A very poor comment!

    It must make you feel like crap when you're in front of an important guest, and you realize the very first question you asked is embarassingly lame. When you're interviewing a truly great person, think simple, think humble. As they do, and that's why they're great. I agree the host is a bit irritating. Paul Simon is Great.

  • @FBAV
    @FBAV13 жыл бұрын

    whaha, stop irritating about this kind of senile standard "OH MY GOSH!!!" cliché American tv woman... I'm not irritated by her at all!! It actually makes me laugh to see that whatever she tries to ask, she's got no point at all in Paul's vision... Listen to Paul please, why do the negative reactions on the interviewer get more attention than what Paul has to tell?? Is it maybe because most people don't understand what Paul's talking about at all??? Than please don't comment!!

    I think he's not a songwriter, he's a storyteller on music. Maybe there are more "songwriters" like Paul Simon but no one matches his virtuosity

  • @darrellkastin6738

    I don't think he should be so hard on those early songs. Maybe not as sophisticated as his later work, but fine songs nevertheless.
