ONE OF THE TOUGHEST FOLDERS ON EARTH!! The Cold Steel 5 MAX!!

I carried this knife around for a while as my EDC, and I really liked it. Today I had the opportunity to beat the crap out of it and I am very pleased. It will continue to be my EDC from now on because, why the heck not?!?!

Every time I see one of these I find a new knife that I’m going to buy. Love these reviews

I love this blade. Beware though if you are used to SpyderCo knives. This knife opens differently. I had to go to the emergency room because I almost slice my finger off. It’s very sharp. It does what it states. lol.

This seems like the best folding knife you've reviewed.

Hello, is there anything that makes the 5 max tougher than the 4 max?

I love the whole 'idea' of this knife, but I was wondering if it would actually fit in my pocket and ride unnoticed - by me or others - all day.

Yeah, I only baton cross-grain because it is a better edge retention test… but maybe I’ll split more wood in the future.

Long time viewer, first time caller lol. I'm planning on building a 3 day pack and I'm wanting to use gear that's offered by y'all, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind making a few vids testing them. Now I'm not skeptical of what you're offering, but we live in a day and age where when something gives out it's usually not a life or death situation and we're able to contact the manufacturer and let them know and replace it; but when the day comes where I'll have to use these things for their intended purposes, then I wouldn't be able to replace what breaks. I'm looking at the solar panel and assault pack and wouldn't mind seeing you put them through their paces. Love the content you do, keep up the amazing work.

Close to $500 but it’s worth it in my opinion. You’ll never have to buy one ever again. Really unless you collect knives you’ll never have to buy another knife again

At this point just buy a fixed blade no? 110 dollar becker bk2 problem solved it can do all this with no risk of blade play at all. Leather sheath 45 bucks maybe if u dislike the plastic one it comes with. I am a major cold steel fan and the 4 max scout is the BEST deal on the market right now as the harder steels have less toughness for impacts. Just food for thought.

People love to say "just buy a fixed blade" but fail to account for the fact that these folders are more durable than a LOT of fixed blades of similar prices and size.

@@Sp3rmWizrdi chose a specific fixed blade not just any fixed blade that has been tried and true by the community and even shot at and it survived. The BK2 can do more and doesnt have a weak point and costs far less. Now if im camping i carry a folder and my bk2 or an axe. I wouldnt compare this to a 10 dollar amazon fixed blade the cold steel triad would def be superior.

@@ajo4788 A sr1 lite will outlast that bk2 for a long time if you were to abuse them both. The structural integrity (helps that it's short and very stout) is stronger than the bk2. Joe x proved this before. Not saying I'd choose an sr1 lite over a bk2 for the camp but it's definitely stronger.

@@Sp3rmWizrd well he put his entire body weight on it and the sr1 lite tanto snapped the blade clean off the handle. I guess in this instance both blades snapped but the clip point did not Idk not trying to fight with you about this its my personal opinion ill continue to carry both my 4 max scout and my bk2 you can carry your sr1 lite and 5max and be happy campers cheers
