Oh please! What's sad is children living in poverty, homelessness, disease, people that work and can't make ends meet. The saddest thing about Lagerfield is that he left the bulk of fortune to his cat!!! Think how many good things he could have done with his money! And a legend...what legend? Legends are doctors, nurses, teachers, bin men, care workers, bus drivers, train drivers, vets, factory workers, supermarkets workers, ...and all the other people that try to make the world a better place and keep it going! Fashion is the most shallow place with the most shallow people. I am from Italy, and in my youth I only wore Armani clothes and carried only Fendi bags. When I got out of my bubble and saw what the world was truly like, I felt a sense of shame with myself. I understood that there was more to life than designer clothes and bags. Also, who are these designers that decide what's in and what's out? People have lost their personalities, they all look the same, like a bunch of soldiers in uniforms. So, no, I'm not saddened by Lagerfield being dead, if my mum could die so could he!

Thank you thank you. I said pretty much the same thing! People are ao fake they won't cry or feel sad for loved ones! But for a stranger who wouldn't look twice at them they shed a year. The guy left a lifetime of money for a cat really and people conveniently forgot now he was a good huma he must rest in peace😮 Thank you for speaking the truth.

And that's your opinion. I respect that but completely disregarding someone's impact on the world isn't very nice. He could've made a impact on someone's life and you wouldn't know. I don't know much about him but I still believe that what you have said is so disrespectful. Why is it that only doctor and others can be legends? A legend is a person who made a great impact on the world and he did exactly that. I'm not saying he was the best person ever, he was not the nicest but he did make a great impact in the fashion world and that's to be respected. And about what he left for his cat, let it be. It's already done. There's no use crying over spilt milk. Maybe that's a cause he didn't believe in. At the end of the day, it's his money, which he earned by his own hard work, so he must get to choose what he does with it. Fashion could be a "shallow" world to you but it's most people's way of expressing themselves. It's art and to be respected. People have also gained personality through fashion. And you all complain about how they all look the same like "soldiers in uniforms" and then complain how it's "too complex" when you see variety. If you don't have a taste for fashion, don't talk crap about it. And finally, he was a human, no one should leave this world knowing that people like you do not care for their death at all. Every human, no matter their personality and deeds in life, must be mourned when dead.

The comments are so inconsistent that it is impossible to tell if Karl was a monster or an angel. But one thing is abundantly clear - he was supremely elegant! And as I cannot remember the last time I could say that of anyone, the aesthete in me is profoundly grateful.
@KYNAEVIL

Being of old fashioned class and honesty is enough to have anyone demonised by some peoples over sensitive standards these days. I would pay it no mind personally. Picking the models he did in my eyes does not make him a bad person and who am I to question his judgement in that.
@conquistadorrocket
Жыл бұрын
@@KYNAEVIL there is no "class" or honesty in being a mean or elitist person. he was good at his job, but he stuck to ideals that we as humanity have stopped accepting. nobody is demonizing him - we just refuse to see him through rose colored glasses just because he died. and everybody's judgement is allowed to be questioned. nobody is above critique.

One thing anyone can agree on is, as many say, he WAS elegant - and had exceedingly elegant taste. When, on the rare occasion that some of his rooms in his estates were shown in a video/ documentary, one can see how gorgeous he decorated his homes. Stunningly classy... Is Cara the tan girl with long hair in the plaid jacket & pink outfit? She looks so familiar. What is her last name?

What he have done you consider made him a „Demon“?! He was definitely a egomaniac and didn’t hold back or sugarcoated his opinion, especially like most older people in his later years after he lost all that weight (officially claimed by him just through drinking only coke light for moth and almost else drinking or even eating, and just to be able to fit in a certain designer jeans from a other designer which he admired, but the jeans didn’t was made for oversized people) otherwise he has always appeared as a decent person even his muses like Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne and countless other models never have spoken ill about him even till now (4 years after he died) there is no accusations like yours from people who actually made him as well he have worked with especially with knowing that the entire working staff (assistants, booker, tailors and fitters) in his atelier has been with him over several decades instead of being every 5 years entirely replaced like its usual being done in ever other fashion company also they have been payed way over the average payment in France and especially compared to other high fashion houses like dior hermes etc

Some of these comments are so INACCURATE. I lived in Paris & had the Pleasure of meeting Karl Lagerfeld @ an English Bookstore on rue de Rivoli. It was February 2005, & he was so kind as we had a conversation, joking back & forth. Nothing arrogant about Monsieur Lagerfeld! I never heard anything negative about Karl while living in France. He was loved & respected by everyone who actually knew him personally ❤

When I lived in New York, I always hear colleagues say they met “name celebrity here” and that he/she was the ‘nicest person in the world’. Newsflash, you cant summarize a personality in a simple public encounter. Sry, just get so annoyed whenever i hear these “ i met mariah carey/johnny depp/donald trump/ michelle obama at a bar and s/hes the nicest person in the world’ type of stories.
