most missiles are out dodged by holding right or left strafe key only ones i have yet to dodge is the nests and trombones.

Caucs are screwed unless they can get close. A good player keeps them at range, which is super easy to do. It evens out in the end. I like my crickets .

yeah I use Icebox with 4x Tacklers and Billie... sniping those Caucases off is lightwork.. but when they get close its the most fucked thing in the game - don't even have to fire the damn gun 🤦🏻‍♂

Maybe the flares should redirect the caucus just like they do for missiles making them aim at the flares instead. Apart from nerfing them (which would make them unplayable in ground mode) this seems the best option.

I mean, it's a good build, but if you're running a standard MG you can easily degun a caucus player. They only have like 284 durability. And they're literally in-capable of de-gunning you in return. Your standard MG is is just stupid powerful in this game mode. Like I know people hate the missiles, but I literally never lose a 1v1 with MG's. Which 1v1 is like 75% of the matches I get on console. Sometimes you'll get a whopping 2 human players on both teams.

We all knew how broken caucases were with last years event, so not sure why people are surprised by this, or why people/devs didnt consider this befoe release. Crossout, in my experience, has almost always been about missile spam

Have you tried shotgun heli? I have a hugin rupture heli thats been tearing it up. It sounds counter intuitive, but the new maps offer a lot of opportunity for ambush tactics. I'm not even running chameleon and still manage to sneak up on tons of people from below while they're distracted. It also gives you a solid counter to bots, as you can strip them much easier on a fly by. Also, dont sleep on melee. I've disabled a surprising number of helis with those new dawn's childred melee weapons.

I have tried parsers yes. Close range heli's don't really work for me because of the bots. I probably need more practice

Flying with one MG drone actually works pretty well for missile defense.

sorry but missiles never hit u in air. An no need any pasive defence.

In any game, the meta mix everything only to "effectiveness".

Ive seen a couple peiple making the tusk helis work and its super scary but it definitely doesnt look easy

Sparks do work well against missles on heli! I tried the tusk and boosters, it's very difficult. I think you have to lie cloaked and wait. You'd have to play with putting the rotor on the back and diving down or trying to balance it in the midde, it's hard to fly straight

Yeah they have missed the mark with the helicoptor game mode unfortunately. I remember missiles and caucasus being meta last time around, and the main problem is that not only are they the most effective, they are the easiest to play. They should add in an automatic anti-missile function to rotors or something which makes homing missiles miss 50% of the time, and as for caucasus I think they simply need to me made like 30% less effective on the mode. I'm surprised I haven't come across sparks yet as they will probably be effective too (imagine 1xspark, 2xcaucasus eww). Bots need to be changed too because they can just randomly mess you up from across the map if they get the right weapons.

Have u seen the guys that go above the sky barrier on desolate town map? They end up twice as high as everyone else and they are stuck up there.

That's what I have been running on Chopper's the caucus and a build with the 2 nest and extra ammo boxes does fairly good with a couple of others decent players with good builds on the same team.

I have a double nothung Catalina build that i bring out if i see a bunch of caucasus. Strips them so quickly

I use the nest as both AA and AT and it works wonders. A lightly armored vehicle with a lot of speed and three nests can absolutely wreck Heli and armored builds. By the way, since the nests come down on top of the target, the first thing it takes out on the heli is the propeller of the build.

until I ruin your day with a spark. As soon a people realize the spark destroys all missles, those things will vanish. I love watching people rage quit when I destroy the missles they launched inside their build causing self damage. Seriously, missle users are a problem for this game mode accepting more adoption and the spark is the answer.

@@Henryplant missiles aren’t really a problem for you if you spec into speed and maneuverability. Think about it the reason we have these different pieces of equipment is the force diversity of gameplay. Otherwise we would just have a one meta build. making light armor, speedy craft, more viable allows for people to not rely on giant boxy builds.

There is nothing wrong with missiles. Everything that's in the game has a counter. I personally don't understand the whole, iT'S noT a SKiiLLeD weapon. Who cares, it's about what's fun and everyone enjoys using different weapons.

All auto weapons (exept drone maybe) shouldn't be mounted on helicopter to avoid the no-skill gameplay. But sending them into the graveward with AC62 therm is so satisfying x)

I mostly use flutes. Also in bedlam. You can't flare them, then are hatd to dodge, deal good damage, are easy to hide in your helicopter... Also a fun thing is nest/trombone anti air

I use fused Crickets with harpy cabin and enough ammo. Sooo satisfying when the rockets hit, its hard but very rewarding. Chameleon and reload module inclusive. 1-2 good salvos take down a target, though good tactics, sometimes luck and some cover is needed to have good success. Can´t wait to get the dove. Spark should be really good vs guided rockets. I think players will adapt their playstyles and get much better. The Devs should wait a bit before they make drastic balance changes. Honestly Shotguns feel a bit weak to me atm, espeically when Autocannons are sooo much more versatile.

Gaijin will not let you win at the beginning of the game, this is evident from the first signs. The weapon takes a very long time to reload, and sometimes does not fire. 2 points are for bots if they crash into a wall, don’t shoot at opponents, or leave the base during a cap

my go to in that mode is 2x equalizer + aurora. it lacks a bit in range, but it does well at removing parts.

Hornets are a nice counter to Caucus builds…..other Missiles builds are extremely easy to dodge, I usually clump a little bit and turn off Propellers…..I have actually dropped on another helicopter, and took out his Propellers, and extremely damaged…..he was mopped up by ppl on the ground. I wanna try a Tusk build…..if it’s a human player, it spells death from above.

I made a double nest trombone build with a doppler and a lot of health and armor on a growl, And i made a 2000hp monster under 5800PS who after heating do 800 damage per shot. Its dirty. But effective range is quite low, only about 130m

Any ideas on how to "de-loop" the game launcher when steam states: "stopping", but task manager doesn't show crossout or steam? yup, disgushting show today.

The Athena's have great elevation and seem like they would be good ground builds for taking out Chopper's. A mixture of Athena's & AA gun's

I would recommend my Heli build its called MI 24 My in game name DimaGTR, I think it looks good also it works very well, best way to play is to shot then cloak since using the ghost cabin and you'll get your damage bonus for that shot and the next one ,I have Argus so it protects against missiles plus the chameleon helps out too.

Yo JB, you gotta try triple side mounted Whirlwinds in this mode! Absolutely claps helicopters. I use a Catalina cab and it charges the Whirlwinds up so fast!

The heli mode is fun but all it is just caucacus and homing missiles. Then I just quit being a heli build cause of it and just be a amoured car in the heli mode to help out my teammates

I run that build with fused caucasus's damage/range/spread and no i dont feel bad .Maybe if gaijin had decent servers and i wasnt stuck with perma 230-300 ping i might play something else /shrug

The ping is your issue, not gaining or the servers. It has to do with location to the server host.

I usually go griffon to have 11 seconds in which I cannot be hit by caucasus and cannot be targeted by missiles, thats usually enough to kill your enemy or disable it at least

Idk why but this build reminds me of the caterpillar from A Bug's Life when he finally gets his wings but they are tiny 😂

Hey JB.. I find that spark 3 is great for missile defence and to get them back I love using my 3 x annihilator drone build. First guy that locks on to me gets locked on with the drones bye bye missile build nothing they can do about it hahahaha. Keep the great vids coming

JB use sparks in the sky! The flock flares are very inconsistent but the sparks are beautiful at denying missle spam and as a added bonus they can stall an enemy rotor. I've been farming MVPs with 2 crickets, steppe spider and a spark. Lots of people rage quit with this combo, including folks who use your build in this video. You can pair them with a flywheel or an averter and still hover around the 9k PS. I must mention, half of the missle users self damage because the spark explodes the missles as they launch them.

Im playing on PlayStation around 3 and 4K ps in helicopter game mode and I got slapped almost every time because of rockets trombones nests or Caucasus! And this one map from another event in spring is bugged on PlayStation. So I’m most of the time not in the air

I love this game Mode,is the best update they make and nothing is OP in the rounds you habe play it so GG

Incinerators are nice and OP, but are pretty OP in this mode. you can kill the bots super easy and have a big Number advantage.

They need to fix flying MG drones on helis. Pretty much negates any type of lock on missile for you and anyone within 100m of you. They are better then legendary flares.

The difference is that you can easily outrun a Caucasus user, but the missiles are harder. With my 4 MG13 machineguns, I try to shoot them in mid-air though. These missile-assholes are really annoying...

I hate those three turrets even the homing missiles that follow no matter what

They fixed this a little…..either my cacusus is not fused, or the range has been nerfed. This build still is powerful, and boring. I tend to get hate whispers when I use it with the Ermak cab. My second build is a incinerator build……I still get hate whispers when I use it……if there’s a missle, or cannon build copter, against me…..I have little to no chance. Caucus builds are extremely boring to play.

jb if you dislike missiles and caucasus why not bring some anti-roto them off using weapons blockchain. Aurora. trigger. nothung. gungnir can easily roto off but need skills aim rotos

Boosted cockpit is good to counter auto aimers. turning with heavy cabin is terrible

Using griffon cab, argus and chemeleon together in one build, you can survive caucasus and missile builds for quite a long time. But if there are too many cau build and missile spammers on the enemy, it's tricky.

If you have decent aim the Destructors are monstrous on helis. I have gotten 5 games where i got 8 kills with them so far.

I have been playing 2000 scrap battles all helo are box with nest or equalizer or the teal mg I forgot there name. I use 2 autocannon on the bottom of wings. In the Ai mode I kill 4 to 8 bots. In pvp I get killed buy an nest or causasus;?;!

IMO caucasus and drones should be disabled when you are in helicopter mode.

yeah my ping is 280 im totally using missiles or caucasus, although I've been having more fun playing shotgun in Heli mode and killing all the ground units so my bots take out the enemy helis

If heli mode stays, all homing weapons, homing drones, and homing rockets should be banned. Period.

They are nerfing the caucuses taking away their firing angle

Go lower PS, at some point the people you're fighting aren't rich enough to spam Caucasus or missiles.

I think they should make different battles but only some weapons' to make it fear and more level

Miniguns are a good counter to missiles with the sheer amount of lead you can lay down. Most missile builds give up when you shoot all their missiles down

I would agree, this build is DISGUSTING. If I wanted to use a Caucasus heli, I won't use an Ermak with it. If I I wanted an Ermak heli, I'll use any weapon but Caucasuses

It's miserable man, like everything else the tryhards ruin it. I was running a spike build. It's hard to use, but you really mess up the lighter builds with the impulse. It's a waste of time when two out of three matches are nothing but missile spam and caucasus builds. The flares should've been the first unlock of the pass, not weeks into it, and they should break any lock-on weapons. Rant over, sorry.

Definitely need the devs to ban Caucasus from the heli matches
