One Of The Craziest Hikes In Victoria - Cathedral Ranges

The Cathedral Range is a classic hiking destination, offering some of the most exhilarating rock scrambles in the state (with some tracks bordering on low grade rock climbing).
The park is connected by a series of well maintained tracks that allows for a circuit hike to form from either end of the park. We chose to commence this 17km circuit from the northern end.
If you've got a day to put aside, some rock scrambling skills and legs of steel then this is how you should spend it.
Enjoy!

Really appreaciate the work you put into this. Not only did you do the circuit but you got some beautiful footage of the ranges. Not easy to film and hike simultaneously! Wish you great success with the channel.

nicely done, really enjoyed this. Some sketchy hiking, but worth it for those views. Glad I stumbled on you channel, good luck, I know you're putting in a lot of effort to pull these together so impressively. Subscribed ✌🏻

Cool video mate. I've only done the wells cave track up to the top and then down by the canyon track. But doing the full cathedral ranges would be really fun along the ridge line. Also I'm never game to go on the outside of that last push to the summit on the wells cave track haha even though it's technically easier .. I feel way more comfortable just shimmying up the wall on the inside.

So long as you don’t fall, that’s the main point! Sugarloaf Peak has really good, low grade rock climbs for those who are game.

Thanks, I think you're the first person I've had comment on my music. I make it myself - guitar and lots of reverb to hide my lack of skill haha

Hi Better hiking, Just wondering what other good rock scrambles there are in Victoria if you have done Wells cave before? Always looking to see some new scramble routes!

Gday, lots of rock scrambles in the high country around Mt Buller - like Little Buller, The Bluff, Kings Spur. I’ve got videos on them. The Grampians have a few climbs too but I haven’t been there as I’m scared of tourists 🤣

Hi mate was wondering how many hours it took??? Does it require overnight stay??

I think I did it in 6 hours whilst also recording and helping out the two other hikers climb Wells Cave. Doing it as a day hike let’s you move much faster and easier over the hard terrain. I’d never consider doing it as an overnight walk.
