Some of those tier IX dd's are super strong. I had yesterday similar Fletcher battle. 5 kills (inc. 3dds), almost 2,5k xp and 150k damage. Sometimes I think Fletcher is better than Gearing :D

Gearing is actually worse compared to Fletcher. Back in the day everyone would use Fletcher for stat padding because of how easy and how good of a ship she is.

Ain't that the truth. I enjoyed the fletcher and the gearing looked like a logical step and improvement. I don't think I have ever had a great gearing game, but I have had many fletcher games.

I prefer fletcher over gearing for everything. Feels more flexible and is one of the well rounded destroyers in the game that can do the role you need it to. Fletcher is my all time favorite with a lot of carry-potential

i got my paolo emilio by resetting the kita-aki line twice. Wonderful line to play, even on the third time through. Even shiratsuyu is fun when you run the meme torp reload booster

Probably the mm but I find shira with reload booster to be one of my favourite lower tier dds, kept a captain just for it set for torps. Always the high point in the grind for me, never feel as comfortable in the aki up because they really need to gun things down.

Japanese gunboat dds so OP... countered perfectly by British bb superheal XD I remember when these ships were first being introduced... they absolutely sucked, then they gave these little pop guns ridiculous HE pen and that might have been the biggest power swing ever in this game

It gets to be like inception though...you switch knowing he knows you switched, be he also knows that you know that he knows you switched...etc. also most of the player base isn't paying any attention to that.

@@Matthew10950 That might be true but still Rookie move tho. Really no reason to panic switch to guns every time you launch torps, that is what DD players at T5 do, better to stay in torp mode and watch his movement. You switch to guns when you gonna shoot.

Tier 9 DDs are generally amazing. Mogador, Kitakaze, Jutland, Fletcher. Black. With T7 matchmaking, it's the good time space for dd mains.

i love the Daring thought - still got the slow reload but guns are superb and general survivability is amazing

I've managed about 4100 once in a Haru.

One time I was in my Schors and got nearly 5k base exp. I don’t remember what happened or what I did. But when I checked my stats on wows stats I see that 5k base exp as my highest record. I can’t even break it nor attempt to break my PR to this day.

I don't know if you know but your xp is not based on how much damage you do so to speak. Say you do all the damage to a ship with 15,000 health total . You would earn more xp from that 15,000 damage then you would from 40,000 damage to ship with 50,000 health because you did the maximum % of damage to the 15,000 health ship. It's kinda based on damage to a ships total health pool. I'm not sure if heals count as total potential health pool. But it Seams like something war gaming would do.
