i have had mine since the release and love it. the only problems i have had were with the top rubber lanyard mount tearing and ripping as well as the power button sticking. i have probably close to 100 kms of trail time with this radio

you always have clear informative videos I thank you sir. I have to let others know my experience with Spektrum has not been good. I have had 3 spektrum radios and 4 receivers and had range and glitch issues with them all.

Thank you. Bummer about your experience. I've had very good luck with my gear. I think in my entire Spektrum collection, I only had one receiver go dead on me. But never any glitching.

I would love to see side-by-side companion video of the dx5 rugged and the dx5 pro. I’m not that interested in the cosmetic or comfort stuff, just interested in the different abilities and functions ;)

I broke two of the rubber loops so far. That part is poorly made. Sometimes I struggle with the touchpad. I've had the onn/off button stick as well.

I was looking to get a DX5 because i need a 4 channel radio plus i like to film and drive but when i did get to test one for a few minutes it felt so cheep and i had to strain to reach the thumb control, i made my own thumb control for my DX3R and it works much better. A problem with my DX3R is the mixing is very limited ie: its impossible to do a simple thing like mix in the ability to turn on and off 4 wheel steering, would be nice to know if the mixing is more advanced on the DX5.

Thank you for this video. It is possible to use this system with Traxxas TSM and their telemetries sensors?

Cool video. Very informative. Would I need to replace the receiver in my Typhon 3s and Redcat stuff to make this work with them? I’m still a newbie to the hobby and love it. Just bought the Typhon 6s yesterday and cannot wait to see what it can do

Does it support dual esc cars, i have a dual esc crawler and want a transmittor i can lock the back and front seperate. or overdrive the front to climb.

Would the buttons convert over to be used with my TRX-4 for diff front and rear and also gear? Would I have more control and be able to tweak those channels than I have with original traxxas radio?

My next radio for sure, glad you're enjoying it so far and thanks for the heads up as always!! Side note on the axial blazer it seems very well rounded for sure any complaints? I may get it Instead of the umg10.

Thanks. Our Blazer is still stock and gets a battery through it about once a month. It's a good truck. UMG10 review coming soon if you want to wait and check it out.

Just got the dx5c today but the transmitter it came with wouldn't fit in the box of mu Kraton 6s v4 so I had to get a different one with no avc and telemetry... Didn't know that space was so small the owner of HobbyTown couldn't put it in there witouth removing the box I'm full... 😡 Frustrating but I like it so far 🔥

I notice mine when i turn or give throttle they dont show moving in displkay on radio.it works the car fine but display dont show anyone else notice this the dx5c does

Does anyone know if there are good dsmr comparable receivers that are less expensive than Spektrum branded. $60 a receiver is way to much when you can get Flysky equipment for much less. You can get a Lemon RX full range DSMX receiver that has rock soild performance and can be used in big glow planes for $15, why no Dsmr?

I am trying to program this radio and I am having a really hard time. Can you make a video on how to program this radio? It took me an hour just to set-up servo reverse on this radio. It should only take a few seconds to figure this out. I own several other different radios from different manufacturers and was able to figure this out very quickly.

Sadly my hands are messed up and the one hand steering doesn't work for me. Have to ask you tho do you plan to ever rip all the grey rubber off for cleaning? I don't really suggest doing it, but that's what the dope who sold me one told me, when brand new the rubber was falling off.

I got the radio when it first came out, I found the screen navigation buttons a pain to use. Sold it after a few hours.

Conformal or Corrosion X. You get it wet, Warranty is already void. Might as well void it and insure that it works in water.

So how much is it compared to others in the same class?

Looks cool, but definitely more for the younger or KZread gen! I have a hard enough time controlling my RCs and I’ve been using them off/on since my original monster beetle in ‘86

I enjoy my radio, but the touch button is horrible. It makes me miss my 4PV. I have written to Spektrum asking them to change the menu button so that I can touch it, but scroll through the menu with my steering wheel. The throttle could also be used as an "accept".

One thing I don't like..............the tiny screen, it's not backlit either is it?

Seems like a good radio but you’re a good driver anyway so it’s harder to tell!

Hi , a question: Spektrum DX6C ( of maybe DX5C ) is compatible with my possible future Mini-z MR04 EVO2? I also do model flying, I have a lot of Spektrum Rx for my DX8, can I use them for the DX6C ? e.g. Vince

Are the AUX switches 2 or 3 position?

I have had problems in the past with Spectrum radios and high power servos. Basically the receiver is starved for power because of the high torque servo. I have not had this problem with Futaba radios. Has Spectrum solved this problem?

Sounds like your BEC isn't providing enough power.

@@puzzleluvr I do have a glitch buster by Spectrum. It does help. However, none of my Futaba radios need this. I do have a Castle BEC but have not installed it yet. I have radios from, Futaba, Airtronics, Tactic, Hitec, Kyosho and Tower Hobbies. I have more than one of all these radios, except Spectrum. I only have one Spectrum radio because of this issue. However, maybe this problem has been fixed?

Did it come with gyro function sir .

hi I'm currently using a Spektrum dx4s as the wheel is close to the main chassis i only have use of my left hand do think this would be my best upgrade option?

Robert Hopson There are some custom things you can do to add a lever to your radios wheel. But if you’re looking for something right out of the box, this radio is great. I use this radio a lot as I drive with only my left hand and hold the camera in my right hand.

The scroll pad is sending me insane! I try scroll up or down and half the time it just triggers the okay function, anyone else? Why is it so dam hard to use

alan gordon just bought one. Going to try and return it. If my hobby shop won’t take it back, I’m going to sell it. And get something else. That touch feature is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

I have been haveing same issue go to settings and touch then set it to 1 its alot better but i still hate this wish i had got a dx5c now

Ima just buy the Traxxas TQi 4 channel with Traxxas link. Think i will just use power up program. But the spektum is a nice radio system.

I do have an x-maxx and the stock radio with expender telemetry... my 2nd receiver let me down again so I defenately want to upgrade but having telemetry data (motor temp, voltage etc .. ) is a must. This radio looks like a good option but still debating between this one, the dx5r and the futaba 4pm... any advice guys ?

How easy is it to adjust AVC? I just got a Losi (Horizon) Rock Rey and the AVC is a physical knob right there on the side of that cheap ass RTR radio.

Really nice transmitter but not enough channels for me😪

I bought a DX5C for a GMade R1 that i put 4 wheel steer I even called Horizon Hobby and on the phone with them its been 4 months still can't get it to work. I am not a fan of there transmitters.

Will this work with the V4 arrmas? Notorious for example...

Yes as long as you have the receiver. You can't bind the stock receiver to this radio, or any other Spektrum other than the STX2

What's it's control range mate

I have few old Spektrum radios and they are great. What prevents me from buying this new Spektrum is its display! After all these years, I was hoping they would upgrade or have a better display for their new radios. Just disappointed.

that flimsy screen though gets scratched with dust :( but still amazing radio

All I can say is Horizon must have a serious payout for advertising, I have been seeing Spektrum Hostage video reviews on every RC channel

Because set screws in the battery compartment suck.

I guess it's people's denial of change behind the hate of the up/down menu buttons. I have a DX3R Pro with over 30 models bound to it (I don't have that many receivers, but the chassis set ups are there still) and now the scroll wheel is failing. 3 models up, 5 back.. This not having a scroll wheel is a good thing to me.

Loved my DX3R Pro. Gave it to a buddy and he's still using it. This new touch pad takes some getting used to, but in the end it's great.

After reading these reviews; I'll pass.
