I’m glad I found your channel man it seems like I’m already addicted. I watch a few other concrete and landscaping channels, and you’re already at the top of my list. By watching the videos I would’ve expected you to have at least 30k subscribers, but you’ll shoot up real quick I can tell. And congratulations on the new machine too that things a beast.

Yeah it was a bit risky. My other guys were pouring a driveway at that same time. Learned a good lesson on that one!

Great content. Have you ever thought about putting a couple of sono tube footings under your steps.

Thanks! Yes, I’ve done that a few times. Really depends on the customers budget

Thank God for that spray film to slow the top from setting ! I had 45 years doing concrete but never had those products to slow the set ! Other then putting retarder in the mix which really wasnt an option because once it started to go the whole slab would go at the same time ! Wish I did have it though scrubbed a lot of slabs in my time ! Good job though !!

Thanks! It’s a life saver and I use it on almost every job in the summer. Slows things down, makes more cream, and results in a stronger slab!

You can just drench the base and Timbers with water as soon as the truck gets there, stops the rock and timber from absorbing all the water from the Crete- buys you an extra 15-20 minutes.

Is there a reason you use rebar instead of wire mesh?

Wire mesh helps with cracks separating but doesn’t do as much for tensile strength. With these newer subdivision houses I’m always concerned about the backfill so I want to make sure I’m giving them a solid patio that will hold up. Also I’m able to use the fiberglass that won’t rust out.

I have a power screed, but selectively use it because of the splatter on the siding.
