One of my Deepest Days at Rogers Pass - Camp West Lite
Спорт
Day two of our Rogers Pass trip! We checked out Camp West Lite. I had been eyeing this line for a few years now, so I couldn't say no when Mike and Liz proposed skiing it. Conditions were some of the best I've had and the crew was amazing. Big thanks to Mike and Liz for showing us the way down.

Soooo much deep snow. Looked like a very challenging walk up to the spot they stopped bf skiing down. Beautiful scenery.
Nice one, love the PSA at the end! Keep it up and stay safe!
Just an idea, maybe start your Rogers pass videos talking about the winter permit system and where your route interacts with it or not. Help to keep new folks educated

That's a good idea. Thanks! I'll be sure to talk more about that next time.
Very nice job on your videos. Magical place, miss it.
Keep up the great work mate! I'm in Revy and these videos definitely keep me stoked for backcountry adventures!
really enjoyed your video. I like the photos you insert. great shots. I skied with STHS in Feb 2021. I had the same great snow you skied, but I had to pay 1k for it. Hope to see more from you in Revy.
Wow what a run.
oh yah. that crux at the bottom was filled in

I just came back to the channel and realised you were posting all winter after your injury and youtube never gave me notifications and also was never in my sub list :( Excited to watch all the missed content!

Welcome back! Yeah I got back to skiing earlier than expected. Still taking it relatively easy though.
Great video! What time of the year was that?

@@WilltoRide Thanks for your answer! I'm going next february (14 to 20th). Hope I'll be that lucky :)
great video, what lens do you use? looks like the camera is a fuji xt-3?

Nice guess! Xt-4. I primarily use the 55-200 when touring. Sometimes the 16-55.
I want to get into backcountry, any tips, I think I'm a good skier because I can do things such as delirium dive in sunshine village

I think the main thing is to focus on safety. Backcountry skiing can be and is deadly. Start by taking AST 1 where you will learn a bit on snowpacks/layers and how to use your avalanche safety gear, perform companion rescue, and choose terrain. Then try some safe and easy tours. Tour with more experienced people and/or go on a couple of guided tours. Once you've got some experience, take AST 2. By this point you should have some confidence in safely navigating terrain and reading the snowpack. Books from Chic Scott and Marcus Baranow are good resources for selecting routes. Some online resources like Backcountry-Beta are decent as well.
