One of America's Best Barbecue Restaurants Is in New York City - The Meat Show
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
If asked to list America’s barbecue capitals, it would take a while to get to New York City. A haven of bagels and thin crust pizza slices, it’s just not a place renown for smokey and slow cooked meats. But Billy Durney, owner and pitmaster of Red Hook’s Hometown Bar-B-Que, is determined to change that.
Eater is the one-stop-shop for food and restaurant obsessives across the country. With features, explainers, animations, recipes, and more - it’s the most indulgent food content around. So get hungry.

im not an expert but this actually looks awesome. i love how he's truly incorporated specific places from the city into his food in a respectful way.
I used to hate this guy, but those 2 new commentators for Eater have made me love this guy.
The guy has his heart into this. How can he go wrong. He has passion. Thumbs up sir.
He cut that sausage with a Benchmade 940 Osborne....bad ass! Around 4:11
wish your videos were longer! love the show.
"Profound bark". Does that mean platonic ideal tho?
Much respect to Billy!!!
That brisket looks crazy good!
worth every penny and their sauces are amazing.
I am years late, but Hometown is amazing! And the Miami shop is equally as good!

You know who else loves and is passionate about meat? Your sister.
Billy Durney has the perfect physique du rôle of a pitmaster, and his enthusiasm is so clear. Never been there, but I certainly intend to go some time in the future.
Props to this man. His own style of barbecue. Not Texas though. But I'm sure it tastes delicious.
This place looks amazing.
cant wait to get some of that
I have had everything there, and it is all fantastic!
I need to go there
I love that place, I go there and it's super delicious
This is like the third video I have seen on this restaurant, the food looks great. That pastrami pork belly 🤗 I can't wait to take a trip out there.

It looked so good, I wanna try that in Indonesia...next time
i live in nyc but having just tried franklins bbq yesterday, and not that nyc bbq is garbage, you really cant compare the bbq in texas to anywhere else... theres just something so unique and amazing about these texan bbq that you cant really seem to replicate in nyc or anywhere else. that being said, nyc has a very unique and city tailored feel and taste. point being, both are good but i think the "original" wins.

I have had Franklin's BBQ, and it is worth all its praise and flowers, but Hometown is pretty good. The biggest difference is the brisket, and it isn't by much

I read this a year ago and I thought you were spewing BS because I thought Hometown was already amazing, but I just went to Dallas and ate Goldee's (#1 rated) and Cattleack (#6 rated) and just had Hometown again right now....... there is no comparison to Texas bbq 🫣
AMAZING
Beautiful meat
All that looks legit. Especially the brisket.
This Is The Best BBQ In NYC No Question! It's AMAZING!!!
Thats great, he's put his soul into this and his passion comes out throughout the food
His BBQ WILL NEVER be better than Franklin"s ! Trust me . . . . I had Both !!.

“No good barbecue falls off the bone” hello Scott’s
I wonder how much more this costs over their southern counterparts......BBQ in some big cities gets ridiculously expensive.
So many people aspire to open a restaurant but few know the high build out cost
Brisket looks dry, meat falling of the bones is gold
I like how he uses a benchmade knife to cut the sausage
Notification Squad?
NY will never add up to Texas BBQ, never
Now this is enough proof truly you are what you eat 😂

I was planning on flying to Texas for authentic BBQ, but then I found this guy who rents half of a gas station from some Sikh guy, and he said it was "textbook Texas BBQ" so I just spent my plane ticket money on more Brisket.

Hometown, Mighty Quinn's, Fette Sau, Arrogant Swine, John Brown Smokehouse, New York has better bbq than anywhere in North Carolina. As a NC native, that hurts my pride a little bit, but as a recent New Yorker, it's so awesome.

I stopped just before the 7:00 min mark when I saw someone cutting a slice of brisket with a plastic knife
WHY DID HIM SAYING "BROOKLYN AND NEW YORK STYLE BBQ" SOUND LIKE AN OXYMORON
I don't know if New York will ever top Texas BBQ, but who's to say Texas BBQ is the best? What about the Carolina's or Tennessee or Missouri or Kansas?

Turn your speaker up! Thanks for watching!
I’m offended. You don’t put extra stuff on a good brisket. I’m from Texas and you if you make your BBQ right you don’t even need the bbq sauce. You’re not doing it right if you gotta use a fork and knife to eat the brisket. The Vietnamese bbq I get but don’t compare that to Texas bbq.
adopt me ! i cant hold myself anymore....F$%K!!!!!
A mere rumour
@Eater have you not heard of Michael Rodriguez from Austin TX and now in Jersey city??? A true pitmaster.
not to hate but my ears popped in the first second in the video
