I think the big disserpointment is the fact the trainers don't get in the water with the whales anymore, maybe it's dangerous but it shows the trainers and the whales have a bond and that's what made the old shows so unique and mind-blowing.

it's not worth the risk of having trainers get in the water with the orcas when they could get injured or even killed

It's not as easy as that. Matriach Katina hasn't liked Tilikum since he first arrived in Orlando. She won't let him in with the other pod members. If he got in with them, she'd attack him and possibly kill him. Despite his size and past Tilikum is a placid, gentle animal compared to other whales. He can only be in with Trua and very rarely Malia. Katina won't allow any other whales with him. The trainers aren't allowed near him due to what happened with Dawn. It's for their safety as well as his

for those who are complaining because the whales are in a tank. . .sea world does not purposely go out & capture whales. . .they go out & rescue the ones who have been injured. . .some of the whales & dolphins are rescued and if they are unable to be released they train them & show them so they still get interaction and exercise.

These animals are kept in good care! These trainers make this one of a kind bond with the animals! Did you know they get resturant quailty food! You cant release these animals back to the wild, they have gotten used to seeing people, get free food, and they are protected in there tanks! SeaWorld is great, keep doing what yall do! And why are yall even watching this if you are a SeaWorld hater? And by they the way this show is informing, it shows us that we can make a differnce in our one ocean!

  • @tippi143

    @tippi143

    3 жыл бұрын

Okay, first of all. I'm not a hater :) Secondly, you sound brainwashed af. Did you know that they were once swimming free and in the wild? I understand how they've become accustomed to their "lifestyle" but why exactly were they put into those tanks? Also, much like Keiko's situation (because you seem to be basing your opinion off of that a lot), Keiko wasn't able to fend for himself because of our interruption. He didn't understand the basic necessities of survival such as hunting because we humans give them "free restaurant quality food" (Restaurant Quality? LOL, send me proof of that. ) The information has been orchestrated and portrayed in the beginning of every show (Odd... they're trying to so hard to convince us? hmm ) They're not protected from themselves, do your damn research. They are beautiful and intelligent creatures, they become depressed from withdrawal for being kept in a tank for so long. I'm sure you're wondering, "Okay, so what would you do!?" Well, firstly, they must become rehabilitated so that they POSSIBLY can be released back into the wild. If they can't then they should be sent to an Orca Reserve. They don't need to be entertainment, if you want to inform kids about these beautiful creatures then stop the stunts, stop the music, stop the performances. Let them be in their natural state, not what we want them to be in. I'm not saying they should be freed, they must be themselves. It's unfortunate that some people can't see the damage that has been done to these beautiful creatures. It's also unfortunate that these orca's aren't aware of the outside world or possibly even their own natural state. :/

This confinement shortens their lives and do you tell people how you have to medicate the dolphins because of the stress that they endure being held hostage and the suffering of hearing the wild dolphins at night, crying out in the ocean and how they cry back? Do you tell the little children, how you took them from their mothers? No, I didn't think so and nothing matters to any of you except the financial gain you get from training them like companion pets! Set them Free! Do the right thing!

Jenna, I really recommend reading "Death at Sea World", a well-researched book. It will sadly spoil the tale for you, but tell you the ugly facts. These are not natural pods: some were born free then snatched away at the age of 2 from their mums and native tribes in the wild - the Sea World orcas all hail from different tribes (resident, transient, off shore, Icelandic, Southern Resident) with different dialects. The aggression is unnatural, see the Kandu V death.

This is not informing people about whales! This is about greed and money. If you really wanted to show people and educate them about whales ....first off they stay with their mother and grandmothers and so on in a pod for life....so first off this isn't what you are showing them first hand and second off they should have never been taken captive to perform stupid people dog and pony shows! These animals are intelligent and loving and deserve to be in the big wide open ocean to live!

Tilly is only socialized with one other orca, because he is a bull, and there is too great a risk of injury, pregnancy (with him fathering most of them, thats not a good idea....) and safety. What if a new whale was placed with him and, being significantly bigger than the others (seriously, have you seen him vs. the others?) he could really inflict some serious damage Then you'd harp that he hurt it..The whales are moved many times daily from pool to pool to have excersize and enrichment time.

You don't get it do you, These are wild animals that belong in the wild. They lived in the worlds oceans where they can go where ever they please. Now they are locked up in tiny pools and are forced to do tricks for peoples entertainment. There have been deaths and attacks at places like seaworld and this is because the ammount of stress being locked up puts them through makes them snap at any random time.

+schweppesm i watched Blackfish, and just ordered my Seaworld tickets. Blackfish is a one sided story, and the problem is, is that anyone who dares go against the movie is deemed a torturer. Truth is, if you put all your beliefs into one documentary, or even a few, the whole story is never known. In North America, there are significant agencies that are dedicated to reviewing best practices as well as doing check ups on organizations such as this, and if they get the pass, the all clear, there is nothing to argue about. Blackfish was also proven to be using inappropriate statistics. Using that old company as an example in Blackfish is a great way to stir up people, as they used old processes and habitats, to impact the updated and improved methods that are used today. while still not ideal, they are not even close to the way things were.

that makes sense but the movie was more about Seasworld harboring an animal that has killed 3 ppl. tilikum is clearly a distressed animal that needs to be freed. doesnt mean all of their animals, just tilikum. he may kill again.

azucarmorena5000 i will agree with you on this one. i just watched it again, and it was much more focused on the one whale, then the situation as a whole. good point.

Watch other documentaries, read books. It will all point towards that what is said in Blackfish is true. How dumb can you be farkanarc?

Kevin Grunsell not dumb at all. i have my stance BECAUSE i read more on it and didn't take the movie at face value. LOL. and no, it wasnt all Sea World releases. I read up from sources not related to Sea World, nor on the activist lists....you know, a neutral source.

I find it odd that the lone whale at bush gardens (loitia I think is her name) has lived in that very small pool for over 40 years. That pool is very small, much smaller than ANY Seaworld pool, which I must say, even for a non-Seaworld hater, I find such a small pool unsuitable for an orca. But that whale has lived their for over 40 YEARS in that tiny pool. Yet anytime another orca dies before then, IT'S SEAWORLD'S CRUELTY!!!! or is it? Think about that everybody.

The matriach of the whales at SeaWorld was rescued from the wild along with another whale. I'm not sure what happened to the other whale it might have been released but i know that she wasn't in any shape to be released so they kept her and made her life better. These animals do have a bond with their trainers because they spend all day everyday with them, learning, playing and doing shows, just like a dog would. Just because they are huge whales doesnt mean they are incapable of creating bonds.

calm down drama queen. my point was you need to stop being rude. sitting here commenting on this video is hardly helping the cause. if you care so much, quit typing all these long messages and do something about it! working with them in the wild and attacking youtubers proves your passion, yet it does nothing for the cause! stop being selfish, and help the animal, not yourself.

i watched this,to keep an open mind.but instead,it closed harder. The sceen shows FREE animals, and the ocean, and then you see CAPTIVE whales in a cwement pool, too small .the bes was to see Tillikum, how much respect they have for him.I hope seaworld will get smart and retire all animals, start saving wildlife and tell people to visist the ocean if the want to see free whales and NATURAL behaviour.

Probably because of the death of one of the trainers recently.....
