Don't worry about the time for nursing, my little girl also started having short nursing sessions since about 1 month. The professionals say they can empty a boob in 3 minutes! You're doing great mama!❤

My son was the exact same way. If you are taking sunflower letchin for breastfeeding try stopping it. My son was sensitive to it. Also gas drops helped a lot.

Our second boy is now three months old and he was so similar with your baby in the beginning! The hardest time was week 2-6, so much screaming 🙈 after week 6 everything became easier! He prefers contact napping too, sometimes I love it but sometimes it’s not very convenient…especially when my 21 months old needs me 😅💜

Not generally into motherhood vlogs but I ❤ yours! Am a fairly a new subscriber. I have gone back and watched so many of your older vlogs -back to when Jackson was born. What a beautiful family. Riley is a little movie start. She’s so articulate for her age. Her smile is worth a million dollars. Hang in there. You are doing great managing a house with 3 small kids. I so sympathize with the sleepless nights, the no time for showers, the constant fatigue, and the frustrations that come with not being able to accomplish much. This too shall pass. Keep on being you, and send more vlogs when you can. I look forward to them.🤓

We used Windi gas passers. Little plastic tubes you insert into their tiny hineys to help them work out gas. It honestly helped my baby a lot those first few weeks. Can take some practice and if you try them, be sure to put a towel over you and under them cause it can be meeeeessy when it finally comes out 🙈

I had that miracle experience but with a baby swing. Not the mama roo that in my honest opinion sucks at really soothing them - I’m talking the swing that goes left right and front to back and has 4 speed settings 😂 that thing was a Godsend and honestly was essential to the first 4 months of life!!

I’m so happy you got the moms on call book. It’s was our sanity savior with our first and have used it since. I only read the feeding and sleeping sections of the book 😂 especially make notes on troubleshooting sleep, what’s normal, twilight sleep, etc. So you know what to expect. I know at the beginning I would actually be the one waking up my child because I thought that he was crying and it turn out it was twilight sleep and after a few minutes he went right back to sleep to finish out his nap. I really love that they have taught me to not just react to every little sound or cry, but just pause, wait and see what they do and go from there. I know some of the things sound like it would be trivial, but honestly they matter and work. For example the swaddle makes a huge difference. I hope it helps you enjoy some rest😊

You’re doing great, Kayla! So glad Sean’s growing and you look like you’re doing well too. My daughter also had gassiness, fussiness, and arched her back during feedings. We had no idea what was going on until at 6 weeks when she had bloody poops. It turns out she had a milk allergy. She didn’t get better when I cut out dairy (had to use nutramigen during the transition). After 1.5 months of me being really strict on milk free diet, she could finally breast feed and not be fussy or gassy. It turns out it takes forever to get the milk out of your body. Your doctor can test his poopy diaper for microscopic blood if Sean gets worse fussiness/colic and you want to rule it out.

Hi Kayla! Congrats on your third child. It sucks to hear to that you’ve never experienced good naps with your children. I hope it improves for you though as your baby starts to feel better with the colic problems his been having. I would recommend you try the moms on call night time routine so your baby knows its bed time at night and have an easier sleep training experience, if you choose that route of course. I followed the book for my third and I regret not having it for my first 2 children. I think its great. I hope your doing great though. Its only for a season and I pray you keep on healing physically and have healthy and happy days to come. God bless you!

I've been having issues with clogs and oversupply while simultaneously my newborn has had some gas and discomfort. I went to the lactation consultant and one of the things they suggested to me was to do a reclined or biological nursing position. It might explain why he doesn't need to eat for very long and part of why he's gassy is if you have a forceful letdown. And if you do, that position can supposedly help. I have found it very useful personally. Hope you can find what works for you.

It could be that he wants your milk. But he's so hungry he doesn't like the flow. That happened with my son. I would nurse, but it would make him sleepy, or fussy because he would get inpatient for the amount of milk he was wanting. My son was also a big boy. I would pump, and started the bottle with him to help the fussing. It helped out a lot. Also during the night. Hope that helps! 🙏🍼👶

Our baby was also a grunter and fuzzy bb. Apparently I found out the more milk you take out in a short time decrease the amount of water (milk) produce. So the bb can gain weight with the fatty milk. The water milk is what made my bb very fuzzy. We just use the extra milk for his bath time to moisturize his skin.

My baby had those same things going on but as he got older it got worse. And around the time he was 7- 8 weeks it was really bad. With crying and arching his back while I fed him. And out of no where he’d take crying fits. Someone told me he seemed like he had silent reflux which I didn’t even know existed because he didn’t spit up very much at all. I mentioned to his dr and told him everything was happening. And he did end up having it. His dr gave him some meds and he never took one of those crying fits again. And he was off the meds soon as he started purées. I just wanted to mention this to you in case things do get worse. I hate even being that person but I wish I would have know because it was a very hard time for me not knowing what was wrong with my baby or why he would get so upset during feeds.

My now 8 month old was exactly like your little boy! Beyond gassy, and would wake every single hour (some lucky nights two hours) with gas until at 4 months when i finally decided to fully remove things from my diet. I stopped eating dairy, gluten, oat products, chocolate, citrus and "gassy" foods (broccoli, brussel sprouts etc.) He has never shown any significant allergic reactions to these things, but once i made a full stop, along with burping him often throughout the day his gas has drastically gone away. He started sleeping long stretches throughout the night. ALSO, my little one suffered from reflux, and would wake the second he was set down. Check if your bassinet has an inclined option. I coslept for the first 3 months and my back is suffering 😢 you're not alone, hope this helps!

Ours had major reflux until he was 2. And major gas issues until he was 2. And struggled to poop until he was 3 1/2. We never really got any of it WELL under control. We used the gripe water by the bottle after every meal. It definitely helped some. I wore him constantly in the carrier. That helped some. We had some luck with bicycle peddling his legs for the gas. We burped every few minutes during feeding, which he hated being interrupted for, but it helped some. We ended up using omeprazole granules for the reflux, that helped the most. Oh! Miralax! I wish we'd tried that years earlier. He was about 3 when we tried it. Game changer. We're using that as soon as the dr okays it for kid 2 if they have poop issues Another thing ours was sensitive to was dairy and soy. He still very much is at 4. But it was way worse as a baby. Once we figured that out things got easier, less gassy, less constipated. He also was very sensitive to high fodmap foods. Not sure if he still is, but as a baby it was a big thing.

I had oversupply and my baby would get full fast because there is a lot of the water sugary milk. It fills them up fast, but upsets the tummy and they don’t stay full because they aren’t getting the fatty filling milk. My son actually gained a tone of weight quickly because of thr oversupply and he had upset tummy has that appeared like colic but it was actually my milk. So I started block feeding and it helped a lot of routine and super predictable and happy, maybe do some research in oversupply and how to tell and see if it’s the same tor you ❤

I used little remedies gripe water and gas drops. They worked really well. Maybe he's lactose intolerant my sister's baby cried so much she was hoarse and my sister brought her to the ER. They kept her overnight. She was lactose intolerant and they changed her formula. She stopped crying. My experience with my son was different. He cried a lot as well but later on he didn't start speaking as he should have. He said ma ma and da da but nothing else. So the pediatrician recommended birth to 3. He was diagnosed with autism. So two different things but both babies cried alot.

I’m not an expert by any means but I read that a lot of the time colic is due to babies not being able to digest dairy/cows milk through mom’s breast milk or formula until about 4 months old and can make them very uncomfortable. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wow kinda concerning just comparing which not all moms should do. Him not staying latched etc clearly he might have a milk allergy or something. My son would nurse 30 min per boob every 2-3 hours until like 4-6 months then the amount of time went down to maybe 15 min per side until a year. Don’t let your dr ignore your concerns especially with the hives he had in the other video. Push for allergy testing. It’ll save you many more months of you both suffering… you got this mama!!

In my experience as a doula, this sounds like intolerance to something in mama's diet. If baby seems unreasonably fussy, gassy, rashy, ect, after 3 weeks, then it may because of dairy, egg, gluten or something else in mama's diet.
