It's taking something AWAY from the actual man, I can imagine he would be pissed to be portrayed by a black man and that's just fan-fucking-tastic in my book, but it still acknowledges what good he did though while also making fun of him "don't talk about the war you didn't fight in it." And showing how he was a bit of a dandy. Think sort of how Hitler was portrayed in Jojo Rabbit, although that's much more extreme in it's satire.

You can tell they have practiced this song to complete perfection. They know not only when they sing, but when the other sings, and how to play off of eachother, not to mention their vocals are both 100% on point during this song. By far one my favorites to see live.

I think about the contrast of the selflessness of Washington. He was the first “ruler” to voluntarily walk away for the good of the new nation. With that act, I think that makes him one of the greatest leaders to ever live. Contrast that with now…I think we’ve forgotten that a bit. This song makes me tear up thinking about this simple, but great act. I loved seeing the backup singer have tears in her eyes as well. This is pretty powerful art.

Washington was in poor health at the time he stepped down. He was personally worn down by the factions in his Cabinet. At that stage in his life, George was cognizant of the message he'd be sending if he was still President and died in office. He didn't want to give the impression that 'President' was another term for 'King,' so on both a professional and personal level, he was done. Washington passed a year later, so that tells us how in sync he was with both his inherent wisdom and experience.

It’s because he had to fit into Washington’s shoes. Even though many people were before him he still had to carry on Washington’s progress and well legacy if you think about it. You never really think about what it's like for the past presidents to leave their presidency behind after they're done serving. Really puts things into perspective ig.

He said the mail in ballots were rigged in Biden’s favor, when he himself told his voters not to use them. Obviously, if few trump fans use it, the mail ins will be in large part in Biden’s favor. That’s one of the best lines of the song.

You could see so much emotion through this whole song. Even the singers, backup or front, were on the verge of tears. Lin especially looked like he'd break out crying any second. This is how amazing the Hamilcast is.

George Washington's Hamilton songs didn't resonate with me until this past week, when the importance of his actions and teaching America to let go 200+ years ago now matter so much. Now these songs make me SO proud of my country and what it stands for and how it works.

Gives me chills every time I hear this song… our forefathers, not perfect, they were in fact brilliant and passionate about the country they sacrificed to create!

Great job catching Michelle Obama's goosebumps when the back-up singers enter with, "George Washington's coming home..." You can see her forearms come together and she undoubtedly felt her husband's impending exit from the White House. And the tears in the one singer's eyes. Just magic!

The crying backup singer as she looks back at Obama. That look was all of us. So sad to see an amazing President leaving office. But so happy that he is finally going home to a well-deserved rest

Chris Jackson is amazing and "One Last Time" really shows off his talent, but I'd argue that Renee Elise Goldsberry is one of the best vocalists in the cast. She has to hit a lot of high notes and keep strong breath control during her "Satisfied" number. Though Chris' voice is very smooth and conveys a ton of emotion when he sings. He was so good as Washington it's hard for me to think of other actors playing that character.

My favorite song from the musical. It's so underrated. It is an absolutely beautiful song that does a great job summing up the essence of this country (or what it's supposed to be, anyway). I cry every time I hear it.

This makes me so sad because it is so clear that we will never get to see such an amazing work of art performed at the White House during the Trump presidency. But I am nevertheless thankful that Barack and Michelle Obama loved this musical and publicly expressed this.
