Imagine being with someone for more than 50 years. Then watching them moves on from life. Memories of 50 years together starts to play in your head. Realising theyre no longer there in reality. Realising theyre gone forever and only memories stays. The person you devoted your life for is no longer here but their scent still lingers. You felt like it was just yesterday you met them. I was listening to this while watching the rain last night, it was perfect

My grandparents are still alive, so I don't have a tearful story to tell, but I recently visited them back in our home country and saw them dance, which was all I could think of after I finished the song. They seemed really happy while dancing. Abuela's a cancer survivor, she's still got many good, healthy years to go after she kicked breast cancer's ass, and now she's still working, making quilts for sale and bringing a pretty penny for themselves and the family. Abuelo has been a diabetic for the as long as I can remember (and I'm sixteen), but he refuses to let it weaken him. He still gets up at early hours to tend to his gardens, to twenty year old bonsai trees he's been proudly growing, and the beautiful flowers growing from them that he picks to give me every time I visit. He works until late. He has three large gardens in just his home. I've tried to avoid this topic for years now, but... I wonder what their last moment will be like together...

my grandpa passed away.. and then my grandma passed away 8 months after him.. she can't stand living without him. My grandma had this illness (that i can't explain in English) and it was easily treated if she had the will to live.. but everytime she took her medications and days in the hospital bed she didnt get any better. before my grandpa passed away she was fine and healthy, but thing changed. The only thing that could cure her was him, and that's why our family let her go (with heavy hearts) and decide she would be happier up there with grandpa.. theyre in peace now :')

Kevin M Abraham - the first two lines of your comment sound just like my grandparents. Grandpa died & Grandma followed 8 months later. She had a stroke. I always said he simply showed up, said, "let's go" & she did. Funny how things like this can be.

My Grandparents met when when they were both widowed. When my Grandma was moved into the nursing home, my Grandpa visited her every day. When she passed away, he passed away a few months later. They were together for over 20 years. One thing they loved to do together was dance. I love this song!

One of our Marines just took his life. Left behind is his really young wife and new born daughter. My team just performed military honors at his funeral and she requested this song. At the funeral this song seemed so much longer, but the impact remains. Rough.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful song/story!! My grandparents had a similar story, 75 years of marriage and then they passed away within about a month or two of each other. If I can have a marriage that is anything like theirs, my life will be a success.

It's almost a year and this song still makes me cry.... a lot. I always remember my grandparents' love for each other. My grandfather passed away 6 years ago. 4 years later, my grandmother passed away just after the day of my grandfather's birthday. I believe that he was the angel who fetch her and now my heart is aching. I miss them both so much.

i remember the first time i listened to this song was by chance just one of the spotify recommendations and i was in a public bus when this song started playing in my headphones on full volume and i remember the tune striked me in the very first few seconds. the first stanza started and i instantly felt happy, soon my stop came and i started walking towards my destination enjoying and listening to the lyrics very attentively (i don't usually listen to lyrics attentively sooo.....) and then it was the time to cross the road and just when i was crossing the road i heard the line "Thirty-five hours have gone by since your last breath" and i stopped there in the middle of the crosswalk because that felt heartbreaking to hear. and i forgot i was really blocking the way of huge traffic until the song actually ended and realisation kicked in with people blowing there horns like crazyyy. i still feel the same heartbreak when i listen to the last stanza and i think that this might be the only song that had such impact on me, to make me forget the things happening in present and losing myself in the melody. it might sound dramatic but, it is what it is.

Wow, they only had to wait 35 hours to see each other again. They were together in heaven again so soon! That is wonderful! 🙂❤️ what a beautiful story!

When I listened this song last night at your concert in Paris, I felt touched right in the heart. My grandparents passed away together too last year, after more than 60 years of marriage. My Grandpa decided to fall asleep and died on January 1st of 2016 in the evening and my grandmother decided to not wake up on January 2nd in the morning. They were at the hospital, but not in the same room and not even in the same floor. They just leave us together without reach an agreement.. I think it was the most beautiful proof of love. And I feel less alone to see that other couples and families lived the same beautiful goodbye. Thanks to Lucybelle for sharing her story and to both of you to write this song that I think will touch the heart of several other people who lived a similar story

Songs don't normally bring me to tears...yet here I am!

This song really brought back memories for me. Especially since my grandfather just passed away 3 months ago. Finally resting next to the first woman he loved that passed away at a young age but he still lived to be 79, he now has many stories of his life to go tell her. He even bought the grave next to hers back in the 50's for just $20.

This made me cry more than anything else could, I really felt the emotion that your grandparent's had for each other, it makes me wants to cry knowing that maybe if my grandparents had really loved each other, that I'd be able to see my grandpa more often, that my grandma wouldn't be broke and living with my great grandma, maybe if things had been different, I wouldn't be the next generation of a broken family... This reminded me of my Grandma..and her husband. He was so kind and handsome my mother always said when speaking of him. My grandma would take care of me and my brother when we were little, watching this made memories flood back to me that I Teared up. Even cried. My grandma died of cancer in 2021..I miss her so much. She was so strong and fought so hard for us. She gave me A rosery with different colours..I miss you..I love you my dear Grandma and grandpa..may you rest in peace..this video hit me hard.
