Love the video in real time. I watch so many sped up art process videos that my brain thinks that I have to draw and paint faster instead of taking my time. Love your work!

This was lovely to draw along with, and the music really helped me get absorbed in what I was doing. It helped me get through a manic episode as I went nuts filling the paper with color, then adding finer black and white details as I calmed down. Thank you so much!

Wow wow wow...something bout this video as got me mesmerised..just watching you do your mark making, mendalas & zentangly. Stuff as got me so i cant take my eyes off the video🙈😳😁...im loveing the music its feeling very nostalgic for me..could you please tell me the track or album you was playing for this video...watching & listening to this was very calming for so thank you so much for that & thank you for shareing it with us all, im deffo inspired to just put colour on a page n just doodle😁i cant say im very good at doodling but imma give it a go.....hope all is well & colourfull😁🌻

The Uni-ball Signo White pen is my favorite!

Could you tell us the brands of white pens you recommend? They seem to work really well on top of the other materials you're working with, and I haven't always had as good of results.

My two favorites are the UniBall Signo White pen and then Posca pens- for the most part they work over the top of all kinds of surfaces!

I get most of my royalty free music for videos from Epidemic Sound- this video has about 5 or 6 different songs from the artist Thomas Skydleberg

Don’t you find that drawing over acrylic with a sharpie wrecks your markers?

For me, Sharpies that I use don't get wrecked- in fact they are the pen that I think is the most forgiving when working over the top of all kinds of surfaces. I tend to have good luck with them most of the time!

@@alisakburke Thanj you for responding. Maybe it’s over tempera paint I’ve noticed the sharpies seem to dry out fast....hmmm

@@MrsQuam I would assume because tempura paint is washable and water soluble that the markers would clog up because they would be reactivating the paint, idk for sure but just my thought. Acrylic painted backgrounds would not be reactivated and with the acrylic you just have to be sure it is completely dry in my experience.

I thought this was a sketch book? Isn't an art journal where you journal your life using art and words?

In my own work and process an art journal can be very similar to a sketchbook. I like to use an art journal for anything other than drawing so my art journals have lots of mixed media techniques, collage, layers, paint and many different supplies. It is my place to experiment, practice and play. My own sketchbooks are typically just for drawing but I know each and every artist and creative has a different process!

@@alisakburke Thanks for the explanation. When it first started, way back in the day, art journaling was the visual version of a diary. Now it's also a visual form of self expression and creativity. That's nice to know.

Love this video but I think this is not art journaling it’s sketchbook work.
