What impressed me the most was the UI. Clean, logical and unobtrusive. Today, Adobe apps feel like a Mercedes built on top of Ford T. They needed to be completely redesigned.

Clean UI is easy when you're making a toy. For industry work, which is Adobe's focus, an unobtrusive UI is exactly what you don't want, as you need quick and easy access to a surprisingly large number of stuff with a minimum amount of clicks. Yes, it takes a while to get used to, but once you do, it makes total sense why they've done it like that, and kept it like that.

This is absolutely insane! Can't believe whats possible so easy these days. This stuff is probably enough for 80% of the industry needs in the first place and will replace some heavy workflows. Great Tool, thanks for showing us Matt!

Great to see this as had not stumbled across this app before and I like it browser based as jumping between photoshop, after effects and others where often times there are slow downs, mystery hangs, software/hardware issues and errors that pop up needing solving and get in the way of the creative flow and process.

This is free tool!? Outstanding!!! It will take some time Photoshoppers to get used to it but it is already insanely good!

This is definitely worth a more in depth review. I feel case study will let it shine the way it is supposed to. I do wonder if you can still save and post edit the resulting images and if it can save non-destructively. This last option is needed because there are clients that send their logo or custom picture for use in a design.

Hey there - yes Modyfi is entirely non-destructive! You can export still images and videos at any time, and continue to tweak, reimagine, or duplicate a project. There's actually no need to "save" as all changes to a project are automatically saved - if you leave a project and come back later, it will be in exactly the state you left it. Non-destructivity is central to our approach with Modyfi, and we're really excited about all the opportunities it creates for making design systems and templates for client work!

Thanks for the tutorial, what an amazing tool! I see a lot of potential for texts. It blew my mind how easy it was to create such stunning effects and animation 🤯I would definitely love lo have more videos on how to create those text artifacts with classic sans-serif and grotesk specimens 😉

I had come across modyfi last year , this tool might have known consequent upgrade but this is indeed a powerhouse free tool , it just need essential design knowledge and creativity blending Ai to come with great result that should be not only for social media but professional use !🧐🤔✅🆙, please do a full walkthrough professional tutorial because by what i seen in this video , it's just an introductory video 😊

Giving this a go running Chrome in desktop mode on a Samsung Android tablet, just to have a look-see 😁

Just tried it, and it hammered my CPU!! 100% just trying a filter and animation and it's not an entry-level system I have so be aware. It wasn't slow it just used 100 % CPU. I'd have thought it might use my Nvidia but no.

Feels like Spline. Spline is great and they are getting better everyday. However, Spline is not Cinema 4D or Blender or Unreal Engine. Spline is to Blender as Modyfi is to Photoshop.

Doesn't support Apple Safari web browser though - odd choice that a design tool doesn't support the default browser on MacOS.

More the other way around, Safari isn't an evergreen browser. Not surprisingly, Apple built Safari in a very convoluted and proprietary way. They've always been behind the curve. Just as a obvious example, they've been consistently slow to integrate css standards. Most devs I know don't use Safari for good reason.

Reminds me of the time when photoshop introduced the ability to create and add plugins. People would download all the plugins they could find and slap them on stuff - weird… wonder why that behavior went away 🤔

Interesting app, but all of those filters look really gimicky. As with Photoshop’s Filter menu, I use maybe 10 items in it now and then and I’ve been using Photoshop for 30 years. To another designer, using crazy filters like that is a sure sign that you’re not an experienced designer/photographer/artist. For that matter, using AI, as well. But, then, maybe they aren’t marketing themselves to that audience. The animation features may be useful. All in all, competition is good, but this market is already very saturated with other apps that do the same things. Good luck to them, though.

Thanks for the comment, you make some good points. I tend to agree but it will interesting to see how Modyfi develops and I can see it hitting certain use cases.

You can create cool images with this program but so far I haven't been able to get what I really want. I probably wouldn't use this app, even for free, until it becomes a lot better.

I wonder, since it is browser based, are there any "funny" copyright issues, like, maybe, using the tools automatically grants some copyright rights to the software provider?

mmmhh credits sounds like not going to be free for long, if it even is

All those years trying to master Photoshop are vanishing in seconds using this kind of app 😂 experienced photoshoppers will hate this 😂

You can expect poor features but real features specially AI behind a paywall

It takes (3..minutes) for arrive to a Black background.. 25% of the video to show something suitable for beginers(anyone)?😅

It is a very interesting tool, but it is, I think, not powerful enough to attract creatives (it is too limited by the filters), while too complex for a social media manager.

Interesting! Their site needs improvement- it appears to be just a small collection of visual effects.

Open one tutorial, exit it, and you are taken to "your" projects page where you can start a new project.

I’d rather support a product line like Affinity with a one-time purchase and get full, non-host control/freedom with offline availability.

Interesting, but still not even close to what you can do in After Effects

Very nice, but most of these effects are tired and over used. Would be nice to see what else it can do. Instead of spending the whole video on just a few things, I would have preferred a quick overview of all of the features.

I really got my hopes up with that title. But I'm sort of disappointed. Its AI integrated and is an online app. Meaning it wont be free. May be it is free for now. But they have to take money in the near future. And since its online and AI integrated, i dont know how much of my photos/videos will be taken by them to 'improve their service'. That said, it is a pretty impressive app. And I hope we'll get similar app, without the AI and one that can be installed and used offline one day..

will adobe finally loose its monopoly?

Sadly because this is an online app, it's of no use to some people. If I can't work offline and be portable with it, I don't want it, and being that it all depends on someone else's hosting etc it stands the risk of going broke, being sold, etc etc. Sorry, but it's a hard pass.
