That town STILL has a fantastic live music scene. And Athens WOULD have a place named Zombie Coffee & Donuts. Ooooh...custom donuts! And chocolates! Those affogatos look nuclear good.

That's such a great idea being able to build your own donuts! I think I would have been there every day of the week! The botanical gardens are so beautiful too, a great place to spend a nice summer day!😁🙌🏻

luckily we were only in Athens one day. If it had been longer, it would have been donuts every day for sure!

Athens is a fun town. I went there for a wedding, I really enjoyed the Grit!

This is Lily's ultimate child/adult dream where she can build her own donut!! ahhh both of yours looked amazing! Who needs coffee when you start your day off like that :) the Botanical garden looked absolutely stunning too!

A touristy thing, but I thought, "eh," but it was wonderful! And hit up Portillo's Hot Dog joint! I am sure you're getting tons of recommendations lol!

It was wonderful. the dogs sound very Chicago, but we don’t eat hot dogs. we’re doing an “International Food Tour” today - Pilsen, Little Italy, Chinatown, Greektown… getting our calories in! We got tons of recs from Jenny & Kevin (Eat, Baila, Travel) who live here! ☺️

Donuts and gelato in the same day? Sounds like the sugar rush we had tonight... tasting a ton of Scottish treats a friend gave me!

I chose Athens to retire to and have been here three years. I have 3 bedrooms for folks that come to visit. Still haven't been to every restaurant...things are well priced here. Don't tell anyone - "heh".

@@StephenandAndie Five Points is The area for historic sightseeing, restaurants and close to UGACampus too as well as the botanical garden. Marker 7 Coastal Grill is my fav and my intro to all guests. Then we drive to The Tree That Owns Itself. ; )

I love British food, but the one thing I miss from Texas is excellent tortilla chips and queso... watching what Stephen was eating really made me crave it!

Such a fun video! Those donuts and affogato looked amazing! We haven’t been to a donut shop where you could add gummy worms on to them, that’s super cool! We love going into record shops also, I feel like record shops are a dying industry didn’t one of the amoeba music in LA close down? ☹️

it’s amazing that the smaller record stores seem to be thriving, though. it’s one of the few areas where the smaller shops beat the giants! Amoeba in L.A. closed to move to a new location. They’re reopening right up the road, so only moving a few blocks. thank goodness. 😊

😅 we were laughing at the fact that Greece opened up to tourists right around the time we were headed to Athens, Georgia. Figures! But like the free gardens, Georgia is definitely more in our budget these days. Hopefully Europe again in 2022, though! 🤞
