One Day Build Challenge! - No 3D Printing allowed

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this week's video I tried for the first time a One-Day-Build! It was super challenging and much harder than I was expecting, but not for the reasons I thought!
Also, in this project I didn't use any 3D printed piece to save some time, so I was back to the good old junkbashing days. Please leave me a comment if you wanna see more content like this, subscribe and if you wanna go one step further helping this channel, consider beccoming a member, here on youtube!

One day challenges are great, they take you out of your comfort zone and that's where some of the best new ideas come from.

I love these little ships. It would be cool to see a whole fleet of different types of ships on this same scale, that look like part of a consistent world. There is another channel where a guy makes models from a fantasy old west setting he created, and he makes up little stories about them he reads to you as you watch him paint them. World-building is so fun :)

Building with greeblies and plain styrene is the most honest in my opinion. With 3D Printing you can make any shape so you can print the whole model in one run.

This was fantastic to watch!! No, you keep on doing your normal builds but you should do one of these at least once every two months. You picked a great scale, for a well loved subject. That paint work was well executed, to reveal an amazing result. I definitely want to see your skills exercised in these one day builds more! ❤

Started with the parting out if the printer and I know how to find grizzlies, but not everyone knows where or what to look for. This is an example of what can be built in with these parts. I love it brother!!

I really love how this turned out. I love the ideas of one day challenges with certain restrictions to promote creativity. I also really enjoyed seeing you build on a different scale than usual. I personally really love 1/100 and 1/144, it’s a much different approach to building on bigger scales like 1/16 or 1/22. Very cool what elements you were able to represent that would’ve been way less feasible at a bigger scale.

A weathering technique I really like to use that might’ve been helpful here is loosely applying a lot of graphite powder with a sponge brush. You can use coarser or finer powder depending on what effect you want. It gets a similar effect to panel lining and shading if you apply by patting and then tap/dust/blow off the excess. You have to use way less than you think though. 😂

For a future project like this, I'd look for a cheap Tamiya 1:700 scale WW2 warship kit, especially the battleships and other large ship kits. They have a HUGE number of tiny detail parts like AA guns and life rafts that is useful for building tiny models.

I wasn't getting the point of the channel. So you take that damn plastic shit, and you turn it by putting it together, into a work of art. Now i'm ok ;) In this way you create beauty, and recycle the plastic that would pollute the planet. I would say that perhaps it is time to abandon 3D printing and make things with recycled plastic.
