As much as I loved the movie when I first saw it, I LOVED the Netflix TV show. It made more sense for this adaptation to be a TV show than a movie as it's too difficult to cram 20 years into 2 hours. The TV show gave you time to invest in the characters and the story. Beautiful story. Love it!
They aged the characters in this version of One Day SO MUCH BETTER than the Netflix series 😂😂

I love this scene, it's my favorite one from the movie
They have this chemistry between them and Anna Hatthaway’s Emma is more elegant and amazing. I can see how she tried to repress her feelings for Dex in the scenes. And Dexter here seems like he’s sober and ready to make things right. 2024 Dexter just looks very sleepy all the time. I cant even see the chemistry between the main characters. The tv series makes me miss this movie.

In the netflix one, Emma just has this coldness to her, even towards her best friend. It was hard to feel the chemistry between Dex and Em, even when the finally did "it"

@@samanthasage2837 it took me a long time to warm up to the Emma in the Netflix series. Her character definitely felt cold and sullen the majority of the time (her eyes aren't very expressive). Though I will say that when they finally did it in the series, that's actually when I felt the most emotion from her.

I enjoyed the Netflix adaptation, but it sucks that the new audience is tearing down the movie as if there isn't room for both versions. I do agree that series Dexter has that sleepy look to him. And he and the female lead did have some chemistry, but Anne and Jim had more.

It's diabolical. She's a great actress but horribly unconvincing as a Northerner. Really took away from the film. The remake was great, and much more true to the book.
