Some of the states shown in the video, such as Maryland and West Virginia. Are represented using their modern flags. I made this conscious decision because it would be easier to tell each state apart. Furthermore, most state flags wouldn't be adopted until after WW2. Or even if states may have had a state flag in the past, their designs may be obscure and unfamiliar. Thank you for understanding.
