I believe KTM's current CEO said something along then lines of 'nobody needs a superbike on the road'. Somewhat daft when you realise the Superduke R is just some clipons and plastic pannels away from being a superbike.

Moto gp is very easy to define. The race is won or lost in the corners. Whoever brakes the latest and gets on the gas sooner is usually gonna win. Its not like motocross where there are so many variables besides just cornering. There's whoops, jumps, and scrubbing that all come into play. I did enjoy watching the two riders repass each other back and forth. Good dicing!

Amazing! Are your front brakes dragging? I wonder, as how quickly the front wheel slows and stops spinning during that wheelie at the end of the race - shown by the speedo dropping to zero very quickly IMHO. I've tried different pads, went to the petal rotors, and mine still 'moan' at walking speeds or pushing it around. But never have I witnessed the mph drop so quickly during a wheelie on my '14 SDR.

It's becouse the hubs aren't perfectly machined flat that why we warp front rotors like crazy on these things.

Andi, sehr gut gefahren! Was ich aber glaube ist, du hast etwas zu wenig Leistung. Deine Austin ist wahrscheinlich nicht optimal....von der Optik und dem Sound mal abgesehen. Die GT hatte da Vorteile...und das auch in Bereichen, wo Wind und aktives Fahrwerk nicht entscheidend sind. Da würde ich vielleicht mal drüber nachdenken. Aber an DEINER Leistung gibt es nix zu deuteln. Stark! Respekt! Grüße, Heiko

Ich weiss nicht. Wenn ich da mit 245 Kmh hoch schleiche schmeiss ich den Ofen wahrscheinlich in die Tonne. Ich bin wahrhaftig nicht schnell, aber da hoch gehts mit jeder Tausender lockerstens mit 260. Ich weiss wovon ich spreche, fahre bloss ne Suzie. Der Vordermann sitzt auf dem Moto als hätte er Klebstoff am Hintern. Nichts desto trotz. Ein tolles und gelungenes Viedeo einer der schnellsten und geilsten Rennstrecken. Bremsbeläge und rechte Reifenflanke ahoi. I don't know. When I sneak up there with 245 Kmh I probably throw the moto into the scrap iron . I'm really not fast, but up there it goes with every thousand at 260. I know what I'm talking about, just driving a Suzie. The person in front sits on the moto as if he had glue on his butt. Nevertheless. A great and successful Viedeo of one of the fastest and horniest race tracks. Brake pads and right tire flank „ahoy“. 😊

Have you ever had any issues with the 1290? , been wanting to get one for awhile .

Been riding the 2018 KTM SDR 1290 for more than 1 year, mostly on track days, without any single issue. The only known weak point is the water radiator that could easily break on hard landings after a wheeling

I had a 2014 and still have a 2017. Mine were both solid. I haven't had any real issues with things breaking. Both bikes went in for recalls, but no worse than the last two bikes I bought (Yamaha and Aprilia). My only real gripe with the 2017 is that the quickshifter isn't very smooth and has caused two missed shifts, so I rarely use it now. The other annoyance is the TFT tachometer's one bar per 500 rpm just isn't very precise. That's it. I'm not ruling out buying a '21 model.

1290 SD GT even had the catbox and standard muffler, also it weighs 15kg more than the R. You should be faster I think.
