Cementing its leadership as a global, Integrated Rail Solutions provider, Hitachi Rail India partnered with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) to power the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor with state-of-the-art integrated rail technologies.
Driven by the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the Indian Railways mission to construct a vast transport infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of an emerging economic superpower, Hitachi Rail India implemented globally proven technologies and solutions for Western DFC that amalgamates one of the highest levels of safety, digitalization, and sustainability. Hitachi offered solutions for the flagship project, leveraging its expertise in Digital Technologies, Green Technologies, and Innovation capabilities:
•Electronic Interlocking - Advanced rail signaling that transforms manual operations into automated for operational efficiency, provides improved safety controls, and increased rail capacity.
•Train Monitoring and Diagnostic System - Enables centralized monitoring of each train’s position on the track in real time and asset protection.
•Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) - Hitachi Rail India is indigenously manufacturing key equipment for this automatic train protection system based on the European Train Control System (ETCS) to build one of the safest infrastructure.
Progressing on Journey to a New India
The DFC project is all set to change the transportation landscape of the country by transforming the Indian Railways network into dedicated corridors. The unprecedented transformation will strengthen the vital logistics sector through faster and heavier long-haul freight transportation further accelerating India’s rising growth trajectory in the global market and lay a robust foundation for an energy-efficient as well as eco-friendly rail transport system.
Traversing through five states, the 1,506 km long Western DFC connects New Delhi to Mumbai, the national and the business capitals of India, unlocking immense benefits for the nation, industries, and passengers, including-
•Quicker, economical, and seamless movement of goods such as fertilizers, food grains, salt, coal, iron & steel and cement
•Decongestion of rail network allows higher frequency of passenger trains and fewer delays, ensuring improved travel experience for millions
•Reduced transit time, thereby reducing the logistics cost
•Reduced carbon footprint by saving millions of tons in carbon emissions
•Boost growth of lesser industrialized regions of India through improved connectivity between ports and industries

    We are doing, 1 there are two Freight corridors underconstructin and three more under proposal 2 , one bullet train project underconstructin more than 8 under proposal ( state to state) 3 , vande Bharat semi high speed trains all over India rolling out 4 , RRTS( regional ) semi high-speed trains 5 , metros all over India

    @@GhostRillley Very nice. I've seen some of the Metro rails, they are impressive systems. Its great to see the engineering on these projects, looks like good grade separation that will keep the systems running even during wet season.

    In the past... 8 years back (1990 to 2015) .... we used to se Governments spending years discussing plans, meetings, international research trips, academic studies, debates.... and finally out of 100 projects, there will be 3 big ones and about 5 small ones executed in average project durations of 5 years. And companies who paid good kick backs used to get the projects. Now a days, in the last 8 years (2014 to 2023), we have seen at least 100 projects, of which 30 are big (large airports, railways, 6 lane roads, space etc) and 70 small ones executed (small airports, 4 way roads etc). And no marketing gimmicks like in the past....... Only actions. Also really happy to see many genuine companies like Hitachi gets the projects, not some relatives.....

    ​@@rahuls4863 No doubt that infrastructure and transportation projects are at boom from last 4 years but this is the only sector which has out performed well. But your claim that no publicity stunts and international research trips, academic studies are waste of money is kind of stupid as well. This govt. have miserably failed in law & order, education, defence and the list is long. This is worse performing govt who have failed to take advantage of china plus one initiative with global companies because their infra is no where close to China. Now, suddenly they are realised it and lets stop MGNREGA and take loans to boost infra. And all the projects are done by private investments, so at end of the day all the toll and commercial expenses will be paid to Hitachi, Alstom (except L&T). Just look at the inflation rate, how do you think lakh of crores of bad loans are settled. We are paying for it.

    @@ankan650 👍 agreed to some of the points.... Overall if you look at the net result, your opinion is that it worse that previous government.... My opinion is that it is better. There is a difference in our opinion and i respect your side and my side. As to which side is right We need lots of data... Ideally from 1990 atleast because we are in that generation .. we need all project details, it's direct economic benefits, indirect benefits claimed, the assumptions for those claim, interest rates prevailing then, usdinr value (present situation is actually worse), beneficiaries(to identify corruption).... Without these data we will be only arguing. Your opinion is based on your information and analysis and my is based on myn. I respect both. At the end my only point is India should really grow, and so should you and i. Thanks for the time bro 👍

    It's great to see Hitachi involved with Indian Railways. I hope the standard Hitachi quality would also be visible, as opposed to just the name. Unfortunately, the Hitachi Officials speaking seem so scripted & uninspiring. Good Luck 👍👍

    Because it is going to reroute freight traffic on DFCs, which means congestion of passenger lines will be greatly reduced due to shifting of freight trains resulting in better timings for passenger trains.

    @@shoutout3651 Every politician in India is corrupt and obsessed with money. In Karnataka most politicians who were with the congress have joined the BJP. The city of Bangalore has gone downhill and the most beautiful well kept areas are still the ones that were designed back in the 1900s or before that. Every new area is a dust ridden concrete jungle with not even basic sewage or drinking water facilities.
