I was the Art Lead on School Of Dragons. Your videos were always a big help in finding bugs and other issues that needed to be fixed. It was a fun game to work on, I do wish we had the resources to fix some of the persistent gameplay bugs and keep updating the older outdated art. But the team really put a lot of effort into School Of Dragons, it's good to know that so many fans got so much enjoyment out of it.

what if you make a new httyd game like sod but better in every way like enhanced graffics, smoother gameplay, more customisaition, new challanges, new activities, increase the max Viking level and dragon level, more dragons to grind for, more islands, improved flying, more story and lore ect. This could be a massive hit if you can mannage to that but if you can't I completely understand hope everything goes well for you guys

Wow! You did a great job! I really enjoyed SOD's graphics and models. It was everything a dragon game needed. Can't you get a contract with Dreamworks and make a new game using SOD as the base and improve?

I remember when my parents bought me the Songwing, and I remember buying the light fury and I cried when it shut down. I took one last flight with my favorite dragons, and I remember taking one last flight with my dear Aurora the light fury. Rest in peace Aurora and my other dragons. Gone, but never forgotten.

If you want to replay it, there is a discord server where people basically run this game on their own servers. They even added one dragon that Jumpstart studio couldnt finish

Dude. I had a whole bond going on with my 54 dragons 😭🙏 and the moment I saw the shutdown notice, I froze. This game was so special to me man, no matter how few people would play I loved it till the end. I still haven’t deleted the app.

Yeah, me too. When I saw the notice, I couldn't stop crying for the rest of the day. I love my dragons probably too much for it to be healthy since they're not truly alive creatures... And I still have the app on my devices. I found out very late, on like the 26th of June and spent pretty much the rest of the time left playing SoD and recording it. I still have a folder of SoD videos that I took, and it takes up 110 gigabytes of space

I will say, I still miss my Skrill, Spartan, he was my main dragon who I did quests with, he was my racing dragon and my tactics teammate, he was the dragon I made memories with and truly formed a bond with. And on the last day I took off his saddle and said goodbye to him. I actually cried. Our dragons will never be forgotten, they'll remain in loving memory and in our hearts. Rip SoD

I miss my Woolly Howl, Snowsummoner. I played the game as a child, and I was unable to recover my password for my old account when I started playing again in high school, Snowsummoner was main dragon on that new account. I have no memory of how I ended up with his egg, but I had him. Two days before the game was shut down(I was unavailable on the day of), I took all my dragons out one by one, and took screenshots, so I may always remember them. I just wished I could have said goodbye to the dragons of my old account.

Silver, you made my childhood fun and interesting growing up. Watching your videos were a huge part of my life and happiness. Your well being comes first and is important. I promise, the audience that really cares will always be there for you

I found a Discord server that's a HTTYD RP, but some of the mods are also working on a SoD remake game, I think on Roblox I haven't deleted the game yet, I'm still in denial. I hadn't realized it's been a year, I still think about and miss this game so much. It was and still is so so important to me.

People have remade the game. It still has pretty much everything from before, and you can download and play it pretty easily.

Back then, me and my friend were OBSESSED with the light fury. I never got the membership of something to get the light fury. (I only had the sand wraith and the two headed dragon I forgot the name of) So when we would find someone with a light fury, we would just yell “I SEE A LIGHT FURY!!!” And just chase the poor person around the map. Then, we both stopped playing the game because we weren’t interested anymore. Then, I found out it was shutting down, and I found my old account, and logged into it. It was really nostalgic to play the game for the first time in years. I finally was able to ride the dragons I wanted to get since they were all on discount. (I finally rode a light fury!). And the. I remember waiting out the last minutes of the game with other players. It was a sad day. R.I.P Magenta the Sand Wraith

Wow... The night that the game shut down also happened to be when my dad caught a raccoon in a cage, so right after I was logged out of SoD for the last time, I got in the car and drove to a park to release the raccoon.

Man…i remember playing this game a lot when I was younger. I was obsessed with how to train your dragon when I was younger (13/14) i still can’t believe this game got shut down, it’s sad that games like this are no longer around. Online role playing games like SOD, Jump start, club penguin, monkey quest, animal jam, feral, are no longer around nowadays…and i don’t know why. These types of games were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid, but now…they’re mostly gone. I wish more games like this were around now, we need more games like this. I reember when I was 12 when I got Asha my pink dreadstrider, I was yellikg because of how happy I xas flying and racing with her...and I cried for days when it shut down, the only thing I had of my dragons were a screenshot for each of them I had screenshot them all as I had the screenshot of Asha on my phone and I always cried when seeing Asha on my backgrounf oh my phone...

I used to play School of dragons on my cell phone when I was a student seven years ago. So much good memories ! I was devastated when it shuts down. Fortunately, with Sod off and a bit of thinkering, I was able to set it back again and rebuilt almost everything I’ve lost so far. It has taken time, but now I’m enjoying the game locally on my PC with a new family of nearly 60 dragons(including Toothless, the night fury and the night lights). And this time, I will take care of them forever. For those who are interested with running the game in 2024.There is Sod off, they have a discord with everything needed and detailed instructions. There is also project edge which is simpler but it is discontinued and far less practical for modding. You can still find instructions and the files needed on their discord.

i played that game for nearly four years, my first ever dragon, Lightwing, a flightmare was so beautiful. I first learned about this game from my first best friend. This game reminded me of her and brought nostalgia every time i played. I cried all night when i found out it was shutting down. So many memories, I can't just put into words. SoD was a big part of my childhood and i loved to play it and also watch it here but time passed and i said the last goodbye to my Dart-dearest dragon,Light-my first dragon/flightmare,Storm-deadly nadder/second dragon and first alpha and many many other loved ones. School got more difficult so i didnt have much time to watch youtube and as i got older,i got interested in different kinds of content and started to listen to music(Joost Klein for life). In that year when i wasnt on this side of youtube i got into a completely new school,cut and colored my hair and much more stuff happened. Tonight i was scrolling through channels im subscribed to and i see this channel,i was like “lets go look at this once again like a year ago” and then i saw this video and wanted to see what ended a year ago. School of Dragons was a loving and beautiful game and I was personally one of the very original players as I started playing School of Dragons just after a week it released ( remembering I was in holiday and didn’t have access to laptop and phone was not my video game device.) I am and forever will be in love with httyd. Finding the game gave me a taste of the world I would never get to experience. I used to play it after school, so excited to log on and just keep the farm going or do some battles. I got a membership for christmas, did the quests I wanted to do, spent hours flying around the hidden world map with Dart. But the game shut down about half way through my membership. When I found out, watching one of your videos, I cried. I recently watched a video made on the game remake, the music, sound effects and visuals made me feel so nostalgic, even though it has only been a year. I know I probably would have lost interest eventually. But this game means so much to me that I don't mind. Hi Silver. I started watching your channel when I was 11 years old, and i'm now 20. I've grown up watching your videos, i remember watching your isle videos on loop and laughing so much at what would happen, I remember watching your videos on Ark, on star stable, on riders of icarus, on primal carnage. You introduced me to so much wonderful media, notably the last guardian which has become my utmost favorite game. Your art has deeply inspired my own art, and it helped me as a kid find the motivation to work on my skills. What has especially captured my enjoyment over the years though are your vlogs, whereas i grew out of school of dragons, how to train your dragon and such, your vlogs have always entertained me, I remember cawki the crow and being enamored by his trust in you, i remember your toy reviews, your q&a. I remember your video where you went looking for bones, and it inspired me to get into vulture culture and bone collecting myself. A lot of what you've done has inspired me, you were the very first youtuber I watched, and as I grew up though i would watch less and less, I would always check in on the channel to see what was up. If anybody here also played jumpstart as a kid.. they were part of the same company.. I hadn't played jumpstart in over a decade but when I heard that one of the games that built me as a person, taught me simple math tables and how to read, gosh.. and I still remember in the DVD for how to train your dragon 2 I got a special code for a skull crusher flight suit for school of dragon's, sadly lost the login info due to me having a terrible memory back then, but either way, that game was a really big part of my childhood as well.

As a kid ive always wanted to play a game with dragons, when I found out about school of dragons i kept playing it for years with my best friend. When I heard about it shutting down it just broke my heart. School of Dragons is always gonna be a part of my childhood.

I remember always going to battle events whenever I could, and completing as many tasks as possible before I had to go. When I saw that it was shutting down, I took a flight with my two dragons. RIP my SandWraith and DeadlyNadder.

I still have it on my tablet because I don't want to forget it. It's just taking up space but I don't care, this game is my entire childhood and I will never forget it. And as hiccup haddock once said.. "This Changes Everything."

School of Dragons was a big part of my childhood. I remember vividly the first time I ever played it, wide-eyed and excited at the mere prospect of being able to immerse myself into the world of HTTYD. I remember how I would do anything but fly normally, trying to glide my way all around every world. I never liked the in-game purchases, it felt limiting and restrictive- and it just happened to be part of their downfall. I didn't know the game was gone until months after, and I was devastated, trying to find it to no avail. It leaves a strange hole in my heart, part of my childhood that I can't relive. I hope you're doing okay, though, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever's going on in your life. I know it probably doesn't mean much coming from a complete stranger, but take care of yourself- mental health is important. Take the time to heal before coming back to this old community, don't treat it like a chore that you have to fulfill. Come back when you feel ready.

I played school of dragons as a kid and as I grew up I stopped playing it but even tho I didn't play anymore it hurt me that it's not there anymore. I also wish you the best in life Silver! I only spent money twice in this game, to get a Death Gripper and Titan Flightmare, my two favourite dragons to this day and I will cherish Phantom and Gaslight until the day this game falls into mystery

I'll ge honest and say I came for the SoD content and slowly left as I grew out of the game and the glaring holes in its functionality became more obvious. I definitely get the feeling of being lost now that the game is gone and we've all basically forcefully left the game behind, even if we do miss it terribly. I would definitely stick around for more art-oriented content. I remember watching your little sketchbook showcase over and over when I was young. I think it was a section in a QnA? With HTTYD content kind of dying out (except all of us collectively hating on the 9 realms), it would fit for us to create our own things now, yeah? See what the creativity that grew with the franchise can give life to now. Either way, take care of yourself first and foremost. You were a core part of my childhood. Got me into roleplaying and making my own stories as I played the game, which has now grown into creating my own worlds and characters completely independent of HTTYD. We've all grown.

HEYY SILVERR, you are my childhood its so sad to you see you like this, please take a good care of yourself first, and for youtube content you can put maybe use youtubeshorts like shorts clip that it can pop up in people who watches shorts. its kinda hard to find which content to make but i believe youtube shorts kinda videos maybe make your channel blow up and you can look at the trending games to make content like giving information or details about shortly and kind of topics that people will be curious and watch until the end. im sorry that youre going through a hard time at the moment. i hope you figure things out. i cant imagine how hard it is to find the right content that does well and is somthing you want to do too. im just a stranger to you so you do not need to take my adice but i think considering youtube is not your main source of income, just start doing what you want to do. create your drawings, draw whatever you want. do speedpaints. no matter what there will always be an audience for something and even if it doesnt pull as many views at least youre doing somthing that makes you happy. for what it worth i'll still be here for whatever content you make or if ypu decide to not create content thats fine too. dont let people force you to do things you dont wanna do. good luck on your education ( hopefully none of this sounded parasocial i dont mean for it to be)
