The Hollywood Sportatorium Re-opens...And ROCKS!
WTVJ Broward reporter Kerry Millerick checks out the re-opening of the Hollywood Sportatorium, reborn as a music venue after a long, unsuccessful run at hosting professional sports franchises.
Millerick's report implies that ZZ Top -- the sold-out main attraction on opening night -- was the first music act to play at the re-opened Sportatorium, but there had been a concert or two in advance of this one. No indication that those acts had a live steer in tow, though.
Music fans who trekked to the Sportatorium will recall the epic traffic snarls on the two-lane road leading to the venue. They also might have some idea what Millerick is talking about when he mentions the "endless amount of smoke produced by the sixteen thousand-plus audience." No idea here...
