This was the best review I’ve seen so far of the SLGH005. You captured the amazing light play of the dial and case so well. I’m wearing mine now and it never ceases to amaze me how much the dial changes no matter where I find myself.

I think this video nails the appeal of the SLGH005. It’s visually very dynamic, modern, and fascinating. Mechanically the combination of innovation, architecture, and finishing are very appealing TO ME. There are of course many great watches out there. Oh, yeah, it’s my new watch…

So I have some nice watches, Rolex 126715CHNR, 126619LB, and a Patek Nautilus 5711/1R, but I just pick this watch up two days ago, the Hi-beat version, and I'm beyond impressed with the quality of this watch, but most especially for the price.. I can't believe they aren't going for more than retail on the gray market (yet?)..

Kudos to the lighting effects… it made me appreciate my White Birch a lot more. Keep it up!

Beautiful watch; great review! An 80-hr power reserve is amazing, especially coming from my experience with ~40hr movements (6R15, ETA 2824, & Sellita SW330). I wonder if it stays consistently accurate throughout the power-reserve expiration? Like is it as accurate at hour 10 as it is at hour 70 when winding down?

I own one. Accuracy isnt that impressive. Otherwise the design and build quality makes up for it.

Would love to see a comparatison between this and the szsb you reviewed earlier (which I own and it s how I stumbled upon the channel) great to see Seiko offering good stuff at most price points

Though I am not a fan of Evo 9 design, no doubt it has some great details, especially the dial. That said, the SLGA009 looks more balanced along whole watch.

Who needs luminescent indices? The Yakuza boss that can afford this has a light in the back of his Toyota Century that he can turn on to see the watch!

An extremely beautiful watch but the Hi-Beat caliber 9sa5 is unfortunately very inaccurate. Deviations of 8-10 seconds per day are not uncommon and absolutely unacceptable for the price.

A bit too bling for my liking. Far too many reflections coming from all over the place. The hour hand looks odd too. Chopped off at the end. Date window isn’t a good match either.

It looks as though there is a smudge/scratch on the hour hand. Not very attractive given the usual quality control of GS. Good looking dial. No lume and that is a let down. For 9100 $ not sure it is worth it.

No smudge, just the dial reflection on the crystal and onto the hands
