I did some searching and found him, his mom, his biological mom, and one of his sisters on facebook. They all have a relationship (including the youngest sister but it appears she doesn't have a facebook, or keeps it very well hidden). I was really happy to see that they're close and connected.

Much of what we long for as humans is simply to be fully known and fully loved. We feel incomplete without either - without being known, being loved feels insincere. And without love, we feel often feel unlovable. His quote there sums it all up so well

Actually, to further expand on that, it's also a testament to his new mom that she did that. We all have our worst sides - the things we despise about ourselves, that make us feel unlovable. And yet, we can strive to love anyway, just like she did. When we experience unconditional love, it heals us in a unique way. I've been reading Life of the Beloved by Henri Nouwen (he was a Catholic thinker, and despite not being Catholic myself, I find his words beautiful and comforting), much of this pondering have come from reflecting on his writing. It might be worth a read

We actually do this in our own relationships

Imagine being adopted with your siblings and then being the only one returned and not seeing your siblings again. This is horrible.

My husband’s uncle did that. He and his wife wanted to adopt 2 kids who were brother and sister. The girl was an angel, but the boy was troubled. After a bit of drama they returned the boy but kept the girl. I thought it was horrible! I tried to tell them to give him time! Work with him! But they refused. Extremely sad.

It's absolutely disgusting. You don't return children. Returned, separated from his siblings, grew up away from his siblings and now when he sees his siblings he'll have to see, hear about etc. those people. So upsetting. So glad he got adopted. Hope his siblings are in his life. I don't see my brother, we're separated in different countries and it hurts. Hope since this was filmed things are the same or better.

"I'm not sending you away taylor"... Probably the most meaningful thing anyone had ever said to him. And that's all it took

Sad as it might be, I applaud those who try to adopt and then realise they have taken more then they can deal with and return a child to the system rather then abuse or neglect them....

Well the way I looked at it though is at least they returned him and didn't abuse him, torture him, or kill him. I'm thankful in that way they at least returned him. However, how sad. You bring a child home that you adopted, and then return him like you bought the wrong pair of shoes at Walmart. That is so sad. The end of the video looks like Taylor is doing much better. I'm sure his anger issues will always be there, but from experience if you keep them busy doing sports or other activities the anger problems are far more manageable.

I've heard its a pretty invasive process, so I don't understand how some slip through the system and are granted foster kids. They go from one bad home to another :(.

Anger issues is actually pretty common among foster children for varies reasons, it's more potent in older children, but it's there. Giving up on them simply because of the anger is wrong. Taylor is a godsend.

Exactly! Like you gotta show the kids love and let them realize that they are okay, and the anger will hopefully mostly subside.. and if it doesn't.. then help the child, don't just split him up from his siblings....

He could lash out and hurt another kid and schools being what they are today, they would go after him and his parents and that would erase any headway his parents made with him in the love and trust department.

I was taken into foster care at 13, adopted at 16. Anger issues really are a real thing, and I am beyond lucky to have the parents I have. I couldn't imagine them sending me away because of my tantrums.

Reminds me of my story. I adopted my son, Andrew when he was 12 and I was in the Army. I raised him alone. He was wild to say the least. He wasn't a bad kid, but no one else could handle him. Outspoken, energetic, stubborn, angry. Yeah, he had it all. It's the best thing I've ever done and I can't imagine life without him. I know I didn't get it all right but Id like to think I made a difference for him. I cant even begin to describe the difference he made for me. Today he is in training to be a Police Officer. He will be 31 this year. We talk every day and see each other at least three times a week. We still ride dirt bikes together, we build things together and we help each other as much as possible. Even at his age now, we still set aside time just to hang out together. I never had anything like that with my own father. He is my best friend. He's my hero. As touching as this video is, most people will never know the real impact of what it really means. My hat is off to this lady.

I think I see her point. The prior families did want him before he tried testing them. And unfortunately the prior families didn’t realize he was testing their love. But, anyways, I also realize that she tells him this because she knows he needs to resolve those feelings of rejection and hurt. If he could think of the past realizing that he was wanted all along that might be a much more positive way to live. And I think she’s right, he was wanted. It also points out to him that who he truly is isn’t when he’s acting out. That he shouldn’t see himself as a bad kid. That he’s actually a good kid. I think that’s what she means. To try to make him realize he’s labeling himself as being someone who acts out and seeing himself that way. But, acting out doesn’t define him-he should see himself in a better light. BTW, I do not at all excuse the prior families. They made huge mistakes and should have realized he was just wanting reassurance he was loved. I just hope he was able to realize he is a good person and resolved those feelings.

The families who returned him could have destroyed him!! Why do people adopt children who will obviously be troubled, just to "return" them like a sack of defected product? I am glad his social worker understood that it wasn't his fault. Everyone will act "different" if they felt unlovable. Some are withdrawn, some angry, some just have little quirks that set them apart from other kids their age. Don't adopt a child you are not prepared for. Returning them just adds to their pain.

Yeah my cousins are in foster care right now and their foster family is dropping them because they're troubled. I feel so bad for those kids man, especially for the girl. All of my family is always saying they'll take the boy but not the girl, I don't think they realize how damaging that can be.

Exactly... I was adopted and I also had many issues whether it was abandonment or anger you also have a sense you don't belong so isolate yourself and don't allow anyone to get close, thankfully my parents were very understanding and got me the help I needed and constantly reassured me that no matter what I did they'd always love and care for me, that's all any child needs is the reassurance that you will have someone there to nurture and look after you... They should of gotten him help as soon as possible because it delayed his progress, not only that being split up from your siblings takes a massive toll on a child when they are the only emotional connection you have... Glad this kids found a family and she understands what help he needs professionally and as a mother.

Yeah I'm curious how his teen years went....I really wish they'd do a 2021 update😳💪❤ I follow "Now I am known", what an AMAZING man Peter is and his teen, Anthony😊❤ & praying he's also able to adopt the other teen boy Kia living with them. He also is recently fostering a young brother & sister. If you haven't seen his channel you really should check them out, you'll fall in love with them!

I agree, I'm not sure how social workers do their job and not have a hotel size house full of all those kids. Its just sad thinking of all the kids out there that grow up without a family, without a place to call home. I couldn't even imagine how they feel, what goes through their minds.

I’ve worked with foster kids that have been “returned” this story breaks my soul. Every child is worth it.

I hope that he’s old enough now to understand that none of it was his fault. It’s ridiculous to assume that a child who’s known nothing but rejection, would be perfectly happy and without behavioral problems. And, people who are planning on adopting need to understand this. Babies and small children automatically trust their parents, but with older children, you have to earn their trust, which is a million times more rewarding!! I wish them both the best. ♥️

It’s the biggest mistake these parents make. “Oh I’ll just love him and it’ll be enough”. It WON’T.

It is much easier to raise a good man, than to fix a broken one... Men, young men, deserve to be loved. Anger, pride, judgement, etc... And yet, we still hope for that undeniable love. That love that breaks down walls to the heart, and uses the rubble to build a bridge.

Being adopted myself, I cannot IMAGINE how hard this little boys life has been. How do you choose to adopt a child only to give them back? Connie, you’re an angel!, best luck on a wonderful future Taylor!

The greatest mom doesnt run away but keeps on believing and forgiving. That is how love and respect is earned. Love you, mom!

Omg he’s such a good kid 🧒 He just needs a good dedicated family who won’t give up on him through the good and bad days. His acting out was hurt from his parents abandonment and fake foster parents. When he found a parent who loved him, it changed his life, patience and love ❤️

Thank you for adopting this kid. I was adopted for about 4 years to alcoholic parents who were not screened hardly at all. These addict parents lost custody of me and then I went back into the system and aged out at 18. Thus, I have never had a family, but have come to realize that no family is better than an alchoholic / drug addict so called family. In other words, it is better to be lonely than miserable. God bless you Connie for being one of the good adoptive parents. Much love from a lifelong orphan.

My son was adopted and people have seriously thought he was joking when he told them he was adopted since we also look alike.

Er...pardon!? “They gave him back???” What like some out of date food item from the store?? Insanity. God bless this kid.

Every kid deserves a stable home. It matters. My mom was also a drug addict, but she ALWAYS put me first. Even if it meant she had to go sick & without her drug of choice, she made sure my sisters and I always had 2 meals a day (lunch was at school) and the nicest clothes for school, plus anything else we needed. Even though she had her demons, she always put us first. She died from the methadone that a doctor prescribed her in 2015. I was 16, and she was 33. She took her medicine as prescribed, that doctor killed her. I'll always remember everything she did for me. I love & miss you Mom. RIP Melissa Anne Tanner, 1983-2016.

It’s insane to me that someone could adopt a child and give them back. When adopting you have to accept what comes with that responsibility and work and help your child grow to trust you.

I would love to see an update.

What a blessed child. Very sorry he is separated from his siblings, though. Hopefully, his mom, is able to arrange visits. As a special education teacher, I have seen more than my share of troubled and neglected young people. They can be extremely challenging and take a lot of love and patience.

Everything is happening in perfect timing. What a beautiful soul.

It's evident that the boy was a difficult child. No adoptive parent can be ready for that situation. It is not cold-hearted to admit that one is not capable of doing what's best for that particular child.

@@purplexninjamom It's so convenient to demonize one who made an attempt at parenting a foster child but failed. This lets the biological parents completely off the hook for creating the problem in the first place. As T. Roosevelt said, to paraphrase, it is easy to criticize the one who tries & fails rather than applaud the effort. Parenting is difficult enough w/one's own, normal kids. Imagine the difficulty of this situation.

Social worker is one job I don't think I could ever do! It would completely shatter my heart to witness all this, and I would probably want to adopt all of them! God bless this woman for not turning away.

Are you suggesting that it would be better to force them to stay with a family that doesn't want/can't deal with them? How could that possibly be better than returning the child and trying to find a home that's a better fit for them?
