On the Road in my New (Vintage) Truck Camper

In this week's episode, join me as I do a little camping in my vintage truck camper, as well as hike the epic Enchantments hike in Washington. I've wanted to do this hike for quite some time so it's awesome that I was able to scratch it off the bucket list.
Sit back, grab a beer, grab a coffee & enjoy!

  • @pixalu

    @pixalu

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TonyChin226 It's so popular they need to keep visitors to a minimum as to not have a negative impact on the environment. You can hike to Lake Colchuck and stay over (I think you still can) and some folks day hike the entire 18 miles. It's pretty intense to do it as a day hike. Otherwise you need the permit.

    Congratulations you're nearing 100,000 subscribers. Pretty good. Also, as always, beautiful scenic video and wonderful musical accompaniment. ❤ your new camper shell, it's a KEEPER! I have a slide on my RV, sometimes the slide is not as well insulated and allows heat and cold to come in contact with the wall that affects the interior. Rather than paint or contact paper, I actually use carpet peel and stick carpet tiles. They work as wonderful insulators for both audio and heat/cool. They're easy to apply. If they don't stick, you can always add carpet tile glue. They have unique patterns and wonderful colors. You might consider it to fill in walls, if there's areas that you want to change. But again, the layout of that shell is wonderful, and I would do minimal, because it's very roomy and logically designed. Great video.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. I had to PAUSE so many times to fully take in the scene. I'm amazed at your abilities as a photo and videographer....you really have the eye! Your Bigfoot is similar to our old rig...so I'm at home there, too. Looking forward to sharing your adventures before we " kick that bucket". Many, many thanks. *Recliner Babe"

    Hopefully the smoky air didn’t hurt too much. The vintage full shell camper is awesome, should give you years of service. Hiking poles are great, helps with knee impact and wear and tear, also important for going down hill too. Solvang is struggling with maintaining its original theme vs gentrification trends in order to attract younger tourists who will want to remain to visit and not just drive through. Beautiful hike. Love your editing and soundtrack overlay. Don’t forget your bear spray!

    Did this hike many, many years ago. From the camp at Colchuck lake to the Enchantments is a spectacular part of WA state's Alpine Lakes. The golden Larches never disappoint this time of the year either. Another hike nearby you would like, with many Larches, is the Ingalls Lake hike and scramble up Ingalls peak. Well worth the effort. And thanks for the memories.

    Good day Johnathan. Like your new/old camper very much. Being Canadian, I am biased. Would like to give you some support in caring for the new rig. With almost 50 years in the industry, I have been through the fibreglass RV industry in the early 70’s and learned how to maintain the fibreglass external skin. All fibreglass is subject to leakage once the gel coat has been worn off over the years. The micro sized holes in the fibreglass allow the water to seep into the interior thus resulting in moisture damage. There are several sealers that are available, however they can do more damage than good if not applied exactly as recommended. Or you can us a high quality Carnuba wax. Personally after turning a fibreglass body slightly orange using a sealer, I learned that waxing the unit in the spring and late summer stopped all the seepage, brought back the shine without turning the skin orange. I prefer to use the paste wax, but am told there are liquid Carnuba waxes thar work just as well and faster to apply. Thank you for the weekLy adventures.

    Even more so that there is only ONE uber driver in Leavenworth and that he came out to the trailhead is freaking AMAZEBALLS! (But depending on when this video was made, if it was around the time of something going on in town, the nearest big city uber drivers will come up the 45 mins to Lworth to work.)
