    Al Wilson was a genius harp player. Since I started to learn harmonica I've noticed his playing more than before. I think John Lee Hooker described him as the best he had played with. High praise. You do his legacy justice Tomlin. As a complete novice...this is a real tongue twister! Thanks

    I originally heard this song played by Nine Below Zero when I first saw them live in the 90s with Billy Boy Miskimmin on harp, leading me to discover the Canned Heat original. I’ve since hear NBZ playing this with Mark Feltham on harp. That guy does a solo on it that takes it to a whole new level. Amazing player. I’m glad to find this video so I can learn it, although I will never be as good as Wilson, Feltham or Wilson. Or, for that matter, as good as Tomlinson Leckie. But I will have fun nonetheless.

    Hello Tomlin, i tend to play harder when it comes to 2 draw bend, and speeding up the first lick is cancerously hard. What do you suggest? Btw you are the best harmonica education channel in youtube imo with the tabs and sheets, keep it up man!

  • @TomlinHarmonica

    Thanks for your kind words Burak :-). I would focus on practicing playing that 2 draw bend with less and less air. Work on using the minimum amount of effort to hit it. This will help you to speed up overall. :-)

    Great as always Tomlin. Now, do you know how to avoid making mistakes on harmonica. I mean, how to play clearly without playing an incorrect note. It always get in my nerves when in melodies like "oh suzana" I play something wrong. Just praticising I guess? Or is there another "secret" that you know? When you reach a certain level on the instrument you have to make sure that you don´t commit this "simple" mistakes haha

  • @TomlinHarmonica

    @TomlinHarmonica

    Hi Vitor - I would recommend practicing scales slowly until you can play them without making mistakes. Then gradually increase the speed but make sure you maintain the accuracy. Think of this as sharpening your knives before cooking :-)
