On The Record | On low death rate & lockdowns: Oxford Prof Sunetra Gupta's argument

Oxford university's Professor Sunetra Gupta, an epidemiologist, has been tagged 'Professor Reopen' for her argument against lockdowns as a countermeasure against the Covid-19 pandemic. In this conversation with Hindustan Times' national political editor, Sunetra Choudhury, Professor Gupta explains why she considers lockdowns 'drastic' and not a long term solution. She also explains why comparisons about Covid spread shouldn't be done on a nation-wise basis. Watch the full video for more.

Finally a sane, rational, logical, analytical person. Who dares to tell the truth when other politicians and scientists don't have the guts to face reality. The economic damage, the psychological and emotional damage, the financial damage, the suicides, will be vast and in the hundreds of thousands. Not to mention the Police State which is looming on the horizon.

@@error0xff0a49 if virus entered during nov or dec it would create hovac and maybe identified soon. India's record in identifying novel viruses is quite good. Another thing is that death rate would increase. Nowadays the fatality rate you are seeing on paper is quite contrast to reality. All the governments are hiding actuall figures. The truth will be revealed only after some global angencies will conduct survey about the difference between death rate pre and post corona World.

China disclosed the virus outbreak in December. But now, researchers found evidence of strains of coronavirus that seemingly originated in Springfield in Colorado, US in August 2019. Finding the patient zero is necessary for developing the vaccine or treatment.
