On the Issues: Creating a Healthy Innovation Economy

November 12th, 2019
It’s estimated 65 percent of all new jobs in the U.S. are created by companies that are less than three years old. But Milwaukee and the Great Lakes region have struggled to build a healthy innovation economy. Why is that, how do we improve our performance, and what’s being done to attract badly needed venture capital to the area?
As Startup Week Wisconsin gets underway, join us for an important conversation at Marquette University Law School’s Lubar Center. This 90-minute event will be moderated by the Law School’s distinguished fellow in law and public policy Mike Gousha and will feature a panel offering key perspectives on what’s being done here and elsewhere to create new company growth.
Panelists:
Ken Johnson, Partner, Badger Fund of Funds of Wisconsin; Founder and Managing Director, Kegonsa Capital Partners
Aaron Gillum, Senior Vice President, 50 South Capital, which manages the Illinois and Indiana Fund of Funds programs; President, Venture Club of Indiana
