Barrie Davis noticed on his channel that due to the space left for the smoke generator they're a bit back heavy. When he added a weight to the front it helped with the pony truck.
I should charge a consultancy fee with that adjustment and hope Hornby take note! Always liked Tony's layout.
My model of 2003 did exactly the same, derailing on Peco large radius points. I will follow Howard's example and have a look at the spring tension on the pony.
Love my ‘Prince of Wakes’ and when fitted with HM7000 it is outstanding
Nice review .Hopefully we will not have the same problem Hornby had with Thompson locos .
Mine kept derailing on a double slip. I found that to correct the derailing, I tried correcting the springing but that didn't work. I eventually fixed it by slightly increasing the length of the shoulder by adding a valve gear spacer underneath it.
Lenz not Caprotti valve gear, on Cock o' the North.
i had a problem with my merchant navy front pony it just kept derailing for some reason & i use very shallow curves, no set track at all, in the end i ordered another pony & it works fine now.
Even the pro-modellers get derailments!

@@SheltonDCruz As was stated, the pressure spring on the pony truck was maladjusted.
hi there. great video, dont the clowns at Hornby test for all these problems in the design stages ? its just one thing after another now, spares availability is more funny than Tom and Jerry and Spike. at least Bachmann has a back up
More importantly, what are the curtain poles for?😂

Hanging a bigger backscene - or poking people who ask daft questions! 🙂
You should have put 23 on as you did in 2013😂
Howard Smith is a good-looking bloke.
