I keep missing videos somehow on my sub feed. This was one. And it’s a great one. I love short stories and I must admit I’m a little jealous of the Weird Tales anthology. Great stuff!

Night Shift is excellent. The Library Police, I believe, is in that collection. Early King...so good. Thanks for the info on the others. Didn’t know Things We Lost in the Fire was horror so I’ll definitely be looking for that.

I'm excited to read Night Shift. Idk what kind of horror Things We Lost in the Fire is, but I've heard it categorized that way. I think quiet atmospheric horror

HIGH PRAISE!!

Wow! What a great collection of collections lol. I have read Tales of a Talking Board and Night Shift from this list. I own We Should Have Left Well Enough Alone as well as Book of Blood so hopefully will be reading those too. Shirley Jackson is the best. I have read We Have Always Lived in the Castle and Haunting of Hill House, but none of her short stories yet.

I just passed up Things We Lost in the Fire at the library. I didn’t realize it was horror. I’ll have to pick it up ... along with a lot of these lol

Idk how much horror it is, as atmospheric. It won a Shirley Jackson award. I've seen it on a lot of horror lists, but I think its that quiet horror

This video is inspiring me to get back into horror short stories. It's been forever since I picked one up.

Thank you for explaining the difference between an anthology and a short story collection, because I never knew the difference haha! Although the word Anthology is used in Dutch as well, I feel like it's not very common to use that word here. I only see people using the term short stories everywhere. I think to make it easier for people in general or something.
