On Load Tap Changer :- How it works?

In this video you can understand through animation and in very simplified manner that how an OLTC i.e. On load tap changer works.
It is an important device, installed along with the winding assembly inside transformer tank and helps in changing tap position in transformer's High Voltage winding. Voltage regulation i.e. variation of terminals voltage with variation of load is the main concern which can be restricted to safe limit

    Can a bidirectional OLTC be used in the 66kV side in 33/66kV step up transformer?

  • @Hoidienvietnam
    @Hoidienvietnam2 жыл бұрын

    Under-load voltage regulator (OLTC) in a pressure transformer, working in dynamic mode, plays an important role in transmission and voltage regulation on the power grid system. With that working mode, OLTC usually has a high probability of failure. Failure of the OLTC unit can damage the entire structure of the transformer, disrupting power supply services, and causing economic losses to the operator and customers.
