I went back old school. I only use Blue Magic when braiding my hair. I got sick of the knotted build up on my roots using gels.

Will it hold down 4c hair at the root of the braid? Also, Which blue magic do you use?

@@HarmonyandHope7 I use the regular original. I have 4c and it works for me. I braid the root and then twist my hair the rest of the way down. Those gels actually don't work for me. I'm thinking due to the water in it. After a day or two, my hair puffs up with the gels.

@@aritasee8312 Hi, I wet my hair first with a spray bottle if it's already dry. Or if it's freshly washed and conditioned, I start twisting it or whatever braid down I'm going to do. Then, put a silky scarf on and it lays right on down.
That’s nice. I started doing my own braids, $300 , $400 for braids is ridiculous

@@maxineglenn2843 Hello there! I just watched a lot of KZread videos. Then ,I took my wknd to get it done. It’s not going to be perfect, the first time, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a great feeling, and you’re saving money😄. A mannequin may help some, but it’s nothing like getting the feel of your own hair.

You can get it if you want to BUT you may have to modify some things to ensure your hair is healthy when you take them out. If you have naturally curly or thicker hair, it will make this easier. If your hair is straight, I would not recommend this style especially if you want it to stay that way longer than a week or two.

I have very coarse hair. Them gel wave my hair so I blow it out first before putting braids in it...
I have naturally long hair and would love to have my hair styled like without the fake hair added.
Shine and jam still works for me. No cakeup
My hair hates that gel. It turns flakey on me 😢

I've been reading the comments sbout the prices. Yes they are costly but a stylist makes about $45-60 an hour for shampoo and styling. Four to five hours braiding would add up to four to five clients they will be missing . Not only that you want be back for a couple of months , when the shampoo and set clients will be back every week or two . So yes , the stylist has to balance out the income . Sorry ladies it cost to be extra beautiful.😅
