Just back from a week here. We had an amazing time. Property is beautiful and even more so at night. Our room was excellent and very clean. Our meals at the restaurants were all great. Staff is very friendly. The property is huge so lots of walking it was not a problem for us. Pools were great and you should be able to find a scene that you are wanting. A few negatives, lots of boat traffic in the ocean which was entertaining to watch but may not be for everyone, buffet was a bit hit or miss but nothing major. Checkin was a little bumpy but again nothing major. Overall a great spot that we would definitely go back to.

Very nice hotel. The property is beautiful. Take lots of pics. Our room was a swim up pool across from the adult only pool. The breakfast buffet has delicious fresh tropical fruits. The infinity pool was awesome and not crowded. Can’t wait to visit again.

I'm trying to decide on a family trip between Lopesan and Royalton Bávaro, thanks. I've been many times to the Royalton and love it, but what do you think about Lopesan?

That property is stunning! Love the restaurant decor, the pools, etc. Great all-inclusive!

I enjoy your reviews. You always talk about the exact things I am looking for. Great job. My husband and I are in our early sixties, and your videos have spared us some costly mistakes, and also showed us some wonderful options we may have missed. One thing, I would love to see in your videos, is a quick statement as to whether the room buildings have elevators. I know when your young this isnt even a thought, and when we were it wasnt either. We know that most of the newer resorts do have them, however, some of the older properties, even the renovated ones do not. So if you think of it, it would be awesome to know. Keep up the good work.

Another great review! Your style of filming brings me right to the resort and I always appreciate your insight. I've had Lopesan on the bucket list but kept seeing negative reviews about room malfunctions (lighting, toilet, A/C, etc.) With that said, your tour has all but confirmed that Lopesan may be one of the most gorgeous (and underrated) properties in the DR. I'm loking forward to your reviews of Finest & El Carmen as my fiance and I had amazing times at both and love the Excellence brand.

Totally agree with your review. I've been there for 2 weeks in June and loved it. We booked Unique and it was worth it. The Unique buffet and the bar are amazing. The A/C in our room worked very well. The food in the a la carte restaurants was very good. There is so many entertainment options (escape room, axe throwing, bowling, videogames... they have 2 PS5 in the teens club). Do not hesitate and book immediately!

Lopesan's popularity is rapidly growing - I now see why... Price aside, it's one of the best in Punta Cana. The fact that I paid $300/night makes it one of the best value luxury properties in the Caribbean.

Unique buffet was better buy far from amazing and everyday the same....but yes happy to réservé Unique to have a quiet breakfast and lunch by the beach

Was there in 2019 and to this day my favorite resort of all time! Can't beat the beach!!! And the hotel almost like a home!

It was very nice. The resort is massive! Bring walking shoes. It was very relaxing. Not a party resort at all if that’s what you’re looking for. French restaurant was the best

Now you review the Lopesan!! I stalked your page for a review of the Lopesan for a month prior to my DR visit. I just returned from being there June 23-29th. Your review is spot on. I'll be returning as I truly loved my entire visit, my Butlers service (Andres) was impeccable, the food at the Unique Beach Club was great and I enjoyed the animation team events. I didn't have any issues with my Unique room (3074) although I've heard others complain of minor issues. I will be returning hopefully in March.

I haven't stayed at Lopesan yet but I have stayed right next door at the Melia. The beach is very nice but there are a LOT of boats parked in front of the shopping area between the Melia and Lopesan and directly in front of Lopesan so it can be quite noisy and a lot of exhaust fumes. The Melia beach is much wider than Lopesan so you can get away from the boats but not so much at Lopesan

Another excellent and insightful review. I'm glad I came across this review in particular because we are looking to book a trip to Punta Cana next spring and are considering Excellence El Carmen. I cant wait see your review on Excellence and how it compares to this resort. Afrer what i saw...Excellence has competition.

​​@@CoolistYou know I love your reviews BUT you undersold the family aspect here.This is a premium family resort that tries to masquerade as if it has an adult component. I am sticking with Majestic Elegance for now given it makes a clear separation. We were 5 adults, three rooms and spent 7 nights. The tricky thing about Lopesan is its "majestic elegance". Exceptionally clean and it really makes you think this is an adult resort with the spectacular upscale facilities and infrastructure as well as a tranquil vibe in the rooms BUT it doesnt leverage what it has. I found the entertainment really weak (day and night) This night club was closed 3 nights! Yes - spectacular 10 star gym, theatre and coffee shop but you are tripping over families - especially in the restaurants. A nice Brit Pub and Sport Bar but no food?? Restaurants are good (French is the best) and the buffet is consistently good. Thank goodness for an adult section at the buffet. I can see the appeal of this resort but by day 3 it was clear this place was focused more on families. It was a battle at times just to get a drink and they were often served in 6 ounce flimsy plastic cups. I was missing the Republica!

@@xxdiezelmikexxdiezel88 correct. No pool bar. This is not an particularly good adult resort. It has an amazing gym, decent food and impressive grounds as well as architecture but at the end of the day: the beach is lack (too many boats) and too many kids with minimal entertainment.

You need to seriously check out the La Romana/Bayahibe area. It’s considered the rich area of the Dominican Republic. There is many great resorts and hotels one of my favorites is the Iberostar hacienda Demedicis

My husband and I have booked this hotel for November to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I have been worried to go because Lopesan gets many mixed reviews particularly around service. When looking for where to book I looked at many of your other PC hotel reviews, and know that you are discerning. I was worried when I saw that you have now reviewed Lopesan it might confirm some of the bad reviews. However, after seeing your review I am now incredibly excited to be going. So glad you loved the place. My fears are put to rest.

Ive been watching all of your videos on Punta Cana, love your content, keep it up!! I was wondering if you could recommend a resort something that is all inclusive, that doesn't make you pay for room service, as you mentioned in one of your videos.. that is chill, meaning not 24/7 partying but still has something going on occasionally, with decent food, and overly priced. Sorry if it sounds like a unicorn resort, just figured you would be the best person to ask- Thanks!!

Another great video James. After my recent experience at the Royalton Hideaway I am pretty much off the Family style All-Inclusives. I have to admit you had me. This place looks fantastic. The dining looked great. Lots of shade by the pools and beach area. Stunning resort layout. Room looked really nice. The place also looked really empty which I would love but I got the feeling like you maybe filmed some of those restaurants really late when they were empty or something. And THEN...THEN...THEN...when you did the wrap-up at the end a couple of things stuck out. The first was the air conditioning issue. The only way I can enjoy a resort like that is getting good sleep every night and the only way I can get good sleep every night is if it's cool in my room. Sounds like you didn't have that. Did you try asking them to see if something was wrong? Did you asked other guests if they were experiencing the same issues? Being mixed in with the families room wise would be a drag for me too, especially if you are in a connecting room. Looking forward to seeing the other resorts you have in your plan. Thanks for the video.

Love your video's. I noticed there is no swim up bar. How was the animation team around the pool? Any foam parties? What activities where around the pool? Going with a couple of teenagers in Feb/Mar 24 and want them to keep occupied.

Hi James totally agree will fellow following, your videos are full of experience and knowledge. I feel im right there when im viewing. My question would u recommend booking unique, if i just book lowest room category would i miss out on anything making my vacation any less memorable?

One thing I haven’t seen on any of these videos is water/island excursions or water sports… or any local hiking or history museums. Love the focus on the resorts, but definitely would love to see you venture outside and hit up local cuisine since when we visit places that’s what we look for.

Hi! You are correct! We stayed here in march on Unique and we loved it. The downside for us was that all the pools were freezing cold. Not a single jacuzzi even in the SPA.

great video. last year i went to the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is also an amazing resort. I think is up there with Lopesan. But the Hyatt is more lay back..

The Resort is super cool !! I am going on that beach twice a year for the last 8 years !! the only downsize is the front beach too busy full of boats!!

I’m at the resort right now everything is amazing except for the drinks they suck and that the pools closes at 6 pm :( 3.7/5 for me

Agree with your review. Absolutely loved it! We stayed here late February, early March. The water temperature was perfect and I’ve never been in waters that calm. The Mexican restaurant is amazing, you missed out. This is a very large resort. If mobility is an issue ask to be near the restaurants and boulevard. I really miss the coffee shop, so good.

By far the nicest resort i have been to. Its brand new the food is good and the premium drinks are amazing. I went right when it had opened so the crowd was a little calm but this resort has so much potential. I would highly recommend this but it is on the more pricey side

Price depends on so many factors: seasonality, demand, week/weekend, number of nights, and many more. I paid $300/night (one person). Affordability is a relative concept, but for a hotel of this caliber, that is a steal. They could easily charge 25-35% above their current rates.

This is one of the times I didn't upgrade to the premium portion of the property. So, I can't comment - all I can say is that what you saw in this video was without Unique Experience. Maybe I missed out even more, but I felt like the property over-delivered without upgrading.

I've been looking at this place for a couple years but honestly I'm at the point ( I'm 50) where I REALLY prefer to book adults only resorts and always kind of felt that adult only sections in a resort are somewhat akin to smoking sections in restaurants or peeing sections in swimming pols! lol. I love kids but not at a luxury all inclusive. What month were you there? Was it apparent that this was not an adults only resort?

Hi, i just got from this resort and let me answer you, yes! you will definitely feel this is not an adults only resort, most of common areas are share with standard guest and kids.

Looking forward to your review of Finest - we're going there September. But it was a toss up between Finest and Lopesan

I literally just left Excellence El Carmen yesterday. It was my third stay there.
