Voice, whose name is Aaron St Louis, is the youngest artiste in history to ever win the Soca Monarch competition. He took home the title of international Soca Monarch 2016 with his hit song "Cheers To Life". Many of his fans describe his song as an "uplifting soca anthem" and had crowned him "winner" even before the results were announced.
With the lyrics of the song and his brief speeches as he addressed the crowds of people before he sang "Cheers To Life", he made it very clear that the results didn't matter. He just wanted to bring a message that Trinis were positive people.
Four years ago Voice performed on Synergy Soca Star season seven. Unfortunately, he did not win with his final performance. "Cheers To Life" has now made Voice a favourite of all the artistes throughout Trinidad and Tobago. We sat with Aaron for this video interview just days before he won the 2016 Soca Monarch Finals, he impressed everyone in the studio that day with his honesty and humility. Voice is truly a special son of this rich Trinbagonian soil.
