I honestly don’t know how she ever forgave him for this. Nor how he thought he deserved to be with her after doing this to her when he realized he misunderstood her. There was not enough groveling and self-humiliation for her to forgive him and be with him.

Honestly, historical cdrama are always better than modern ones, acting wise and storyline.

I can never forgive anyone like him or give him any chance after. He didn’t even give her a chance to explain, shows that he doesn’t love her, he believes others more then her .

The reason why I never watch Chinese dramas anymore is the toxicity. Not only does no one help her when she gets humiliated publicly, he drags her physically and still no one says or does anything. Women are almost always treated with disrespect (if not with physical then with psychological violence) and still the character just takes it, cries and begs no matter how badly they're treated.

The lead actor and actress had done an amazing job to create this difficult scene, it was well played.

No girl in real life will ever forgive this kind of person who firstly doesn't trust her and then Instead of clearing things by talking before hand does this kind of thing, humiliating her and being cruel and physically dragging her I mean why the hell will you forgive this person...
