Maybe the crown is stiff because the gaskets have been replaced, if your in doubt take the back off and check it out. Looks like it’s been looked after and you say it holds good time. What more do you want from a used watch? This is why I hate selling watches.

@ Marshall Time - I like the watch you are wearing at the start of the video. I think the second generation Seamaster 300 M diver. More info on that watch my friend!

A stunning watch with that Bond connection. My first luxury watch back in year 2000 and then as part of a growing collection I enjoyed it for over 10 years before selling it due to buying a house. It had also been usurped by my 2002 Rolex Sub Date 16610 which I still cherish today. However, I regret it to this day, as mint-conditioned Omega 2531.80s appear to be going for £2000- £3000 these days. A recently purchased Tudor Black Bay 58 navy blue has nonetheless satisfied a lingering nostalgia for the Omega and for a cracking quality blue dial diver, with its superb modern in-house COSC movement, 70 hrs reserve and staggering lume, not to mention the sheer wearability.

I had both of my Rolexes with the 3135 movement serviced by Rolex and they both came back with a tighter crown. I went back to the service center to inquire and was told the new gaskets are a bit tighter which allows them to last longer in keeping the case water tight. I was told they would loosen up with time and they did after a couple of years. I'm willing to deal with the tighter crown knowing my watch is less likely to leak as I am often in the water with mine during the summer and a leak would be a disaster.

I got one from crown and caliber a week ago and they service their pieces and the crown on mine is pretty stiff also. They offer a one year warranty so I can always have them fix it if it becomes an issue otherwise I absolutely love it.

jonathan taylor nice 👍 the stiff crown operation is not normal . I have another seamaster I purchased from crown and caliber that’s perfect 👌 I would send yours back and have them fix it . The o ring on crown tub can be out of place and rub.

Marshall Time thanks for the info, I’ll shoot them an e-mail about the issue, I wasn’t sure if it just cause it had been serviced or how it was supposed to be, I’ve never had a Seamaster so nothing to compare to.

Hey Tynan, it takes a little bit of time. Ive been collecting for years and never liked it. I grew up in the era this reference was released and your saw them everywhere. It was like what the Rolex sub is today, they are everywhere and on the wrist of many who don’t know anything about watches. Now having one I get it.

Just ask the seller for the service paperwork , if it’s been serviced recently then happy days, that looks like a nice late example that are fetching good money these days.
