John, I have the SoloStar but the cleaning brush is so cheap! Who has a real good brush?

I saw that the Solostar housing (the plastic covering that covers the auger) was shaking/moving side to side when it was juicing. But the Omega housing did not move as much during juicing. What caused this shaking this since the Solostar was able to yield more?

Marwan Youssef Even the Omega juicers will move like this. This is part of the design of all horizontal auger juicers. The Solostar 4 is designed with a Motor Damping System to help prolong motor and part life. The Motor Damping System is used to absorb vibration and friction on the motor and juicing parts by allowing some flexibility in the connection between the motor and juicing parts. During juicing, a great amount of pressure is applied by the auger and housing on the produce being juiced. That pressure causes strain on the housing and motor. The Motor Damping System takes some of the strain off of the housing and motor and turns it into motion. Because some of the strain is reduced, motor and juicing part life is increased. It's like a pine tree that is able to grow in high altitudes and windy climates. Because it can bend, it doesn't break under the force of the wind.

Hey John, I was wondering if you had any thoughts as to why one should get the solostar 4 over the solostar 3 with all of the included attachments for the same price.

+charles harris The solostar 4 has been redesigned over the 3 model. 1. New motor with lower rpm 2. more compact, modern look 3. redesigned, stronger juicing parts. 4. higher yields.

John, do you have any video's showing the manual attachment for the Solostar 4. I want to see how practical it really is. Thanks

+Christine Garcia Compost it! My GF takes it to Whole foods where there is a compost can. You can also use it for soups, crackers, or feed it to your pets with by "diluting" their pet food.

I couldn't help but notice the significant flexing that was happening on the juicing mechanism of the Solostar while it was juicing in the video. This looks like it could be a longevity issue for me, and I would find the movement and flexing annoying anyway. It makes it look like the machine isn't as well built or designed as the Omega. I watched as John juiced with the Omega and didn't see any flexing or movement of the juicing assembly with respect to the motor body. I also noticed an odd noise coming from the Solostar in the video as it was running after juicing that sounded like something was rubbing or out of round. The Omega was very quiet after juicing. To me the clear winner in terms of build quality is the Omega, and their yields were too close to matter.

Mike Kovach I have had other Omega juicers that also show this flexing/movement. Some juicers do it more than others. You're are supposed to juice the hemp not smoke it!!!!!!!!
