God bless omd Back to the 80's for me Omd were so good as indeed all the synth bands were. So lucky to have grown up when music was so great.

Yes I checked and agree the original video is faster by about the same amount amazingly, good ear. Enola Gay has always been one of my favorites. I was a college radio dj back in the day (early 80's) and Enola Gay always worked great for 'slip cues' because of the long lead in to the bass line.

Where is the rest of OMD? I love this song! OMD was almost as cool as the Cure and my favorite escape. My life would have ended at maybe 13 or 14 if not for them, and INXS, and oddly Pantera.

I'm used to having to play with pitch/speed alot in live recordings (bootlegs) which I collect, in those instances the original tape recordings can be different so to get live shows to sound right sometimes you have to fiddle with the pitch.

I dropped this recording right on top of another youtube recording (the one with the cover of the 'enola gay' 45) and they are pretty much spot on in fact over the course of the song this live version is just a tad faster. When i played them on top of each other this KEXP version started ever so slightly behind the original recording and by the end it was ever so slightly ahead of the original about a 0.25-0.5% pitch difference. does the 45 version here on youtube sound right to you?

Yes! They indeed made the song based on it. Andy always says how he hates cliche love songs that says "I love you", "Don't wanna leave you", etc, so they write songs about things that interest them in hope that they could educate their listeners with those songs
