The Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez Lopez was on tour in Australia in December 2011 with his own band, the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group. Omar also plays bass in the support band, Le Butcherettes fronted by exuberant lead singer Teri Gender Bender (and includes new drummer Lia Braswell). Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips sat down with both Omar and Teri at the East Brunswick Club on the afternoon of one of their sold out Melbourne shows to chat about their music. It is a shame Teri didn't get to talk much, she is a force of nature and so talented - I guess watching her play and perform is enough.

She really has a problem copying the way Omar talks with his hands. She looks so un natural doing it hahaha

She is not copying him, many latin people talks like him.
