Oman: Traditional dhow boats under threat in the Gulf 🇴🇲
The Gulf has a rich maritime heritage dating back thousands of years.
But the construction of the traditional dhow boats is under threat because of cheaper, modern vessels.
We met locals in the historic port of Sur in Eastern Oman, trying to keep the ancient workmanship alive.

AntiMessiah Oman is a sultanate, Zanzibar was part of Oman, they were one country till the brits came in

Qasim Al-Riyami Apparently Zanzibar is near the east coast of Tanzania in Africa. Are you telling me that the Oman empire extended all over Yemen,Somalia and Tanzania ???

AntiMessiah Yes brother that’s true. The empire extended all the way there. That’s how the name “Sultanate” came by; unfortunately it has no meaning right now since the empire is no longer there. + the brits had to ruin it all with their colonization bs
