The name Kungumangi came when during the temple thiruvilla in 1980, kungumam started coming out of Amma’s forehead. The temple originated as a small shrine with a trisulam under a neem tree in Kampung Chekkadi. Many miracles happened to devotees who prayed here and the temple grew into a big temple today.
