Om Shanti Om is the mantra of peace. Om is a sacred word that is recognized universally as a sacred sound. The mantra Om purifies our mind and soul and takes our incarnated soul closer to our higher soul. Shanti is the Sanskrit word for peace. The word may stand for calmness, rest or even bliss.

Om is a powerful word and a symbolism of Indian dharma/ spirituality/ religion. When one says Om you are awakening the Gods to pray, pay respect, and reach God. Please don’t send messages downplaying the actual meaning and purpose to satisfy the need to say Hindu Vedic mantras without acknowledging the origin. The Indian people have already dealt with colonialism in the past and discrimination today. They don’t need cultural appropriation. If you truly have moved to a path of spirituality or have “awoken” then you’ll understand what I am saying.

I understand why the needing to be so defensive, but isn't better to give this approach to someone who is doing something that isn't useful? Like, this is the first comment that I see in this video that explains a bit more about the mantra. Why need to be so rude to someone who appreciates and study your culture? You two could just add more to her comment, not execrate she like she was a dog or something like this, for the sake of Shiva. Take this rudeness and use this to people that disrespect your culture and destroy it, not her.

I want to thank Meditative mind for this chant i can tell you i fully experience complete relaxation (ecstasy) to the point that my feet felt they were in the air. I was at peace wth myself. I layed down in bed face up just with the chant on after 10 minutes it started having effect. GOD bless you all

*I was recommended this book by my GP, and it really is a good introduction to mindfulness **manifestation.guide** and meditation. I started off by reading the first couple of chapters and starting with the first meditation on the CD, but soon found that I was reading each chapter in less than a week so had to wait to 'catch up' before starting the next one. I decided to just read the whole book first, then re-visit each chapter before doing the weekly meditations. Even without these, the first reading has given me some useful strategies for dealing with stress, and I plan to make some notes to carry with me when I re-read each chapter. The writing style is very readable, and the tone is reassuring and calming. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to start with mindfulness practice.*

This my favorite OM chanting video on KZread. The chanting and Tibetan singing bowl put me in an altered state of consciousness.

The word "OM" is as mysterious as it is enlightening. It encompasses the beauty of God, the realm of God and his majesty. It reverberates from within the core of the being who utters it to reach all that is part of the being. The being who is part of everything. Simply beautiful.

I struggle with ptsd and anxiety but seem to be able to synchronise my breathing with this almost perfectly. so far its the best solution I have found. thank you. peace xx

Try mindfulness in breathing and walking if u still have it. I say it would do more, much more then only cure pstd. Thich nhat hanh the father of mindfulness
